Organizations Filed Purposes: Enhance the Publics perception of Floridas Fertilizer and agrichemical industry. Promote the safe and responsible use of fertilizer and agrichemicals and enhance education.

The FFAAs focus in 2019-2020 was promoting the responsible use of crop protection and plant nutrient products in Florida for agronomic, economic and environmental benefits through member education, professional certification program administration and communications. The FFAA administers the Florida Certified Crop Advisors Program which supports continued professional development in agriculture fields. Nutrient stewardship was a priority as was supporting development of public policy coverning public notification of significant pollution events. The FFAA worked with State regulators on a pilot program analyzing fertilizer blending methods to compile data on current state sampling parameters for nutrient guarantees and tolerances. The FFAA provided financial support for feeding Florida with an emphasis on supporting grower contributions of wholesome fruits and vegetable to area food banks. The FFAA represented industry interests in Tallahassee and Washington, D.C.; continued efforts to inform and educate the industry and general public about agrichemical issues with an increased emphasis on reaching out to local governments on urban fertilizer and agchem issues. The FFAA continued to promote understanding of agchem use in Florida through emails to members and social media efforts involving Facebook and Twitter.During 2019-2020 the FFAA developed a voluntary 4R Nutrient Certification Program for Florida retailers to demonstrate competency for advising growers on agronomic and environmental goals.
