WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM SERVICES - GOODWILL PROVIDES EDUCATION AND CAREER SERVICES, AS WELL AS JOB PLACEMENT OPPORTUNITIES AND POST EMPLOYMENT SUPPORT TO INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES AND OTHER BARRIERS TO EMPLOYMENT SO THAT THEY CAN FIND AND KEEP GOOD JOBS. INDIVIDUALS CAN ACHIEVE GREATER LEVELS OF SELF SUFFICIENCY AND ECONOMIC SUCCESS THROUGH GOODWILL'S FAMILY STRENGTHENING AND WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT SERVICES - SUCH AS EMPLOYMENT TRAINING AND EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, EMPLOYMENT RETENTION SERVICES, FIRST TIME HOME BUYER, FINANCIAL LITERACY, AND YOUTH BASED PROGRAMS. GOODWILL PROGRAMS STRENGTHEN COMMUNITIES AND FAMILIES AND PROMOTE INDEPEDENCE AND DIGNITY FOR PEOPLE WHO NEED IT MOST. ACCOMPLISHMENTS ARE AS FOLLOWS: PROVIDED VARIOUS MISSION RELATED SERVICES TO OVER 3,832 PEOPLE, PROVIDED EMPLOYMENT AND VOCATIONAL TRAINING TO MORE THAN 750 INDIVIDUALS, PROVIDED INFORMATION AND REFERRAL SERVICES TO THOUSANDS OF WALK-INS AT 31 SERVICE LOCATIONS, DIVERTED OVER 1,616 TONS OF MATERIAL FROM LANDFILLS THROUGH SALES AND SALVAGE, SERVED 717 INDIVIUDALS THROUGH THE GOODPARTNER COACH PROGRAM, HAD 84 INDIVIDUALS GRADUATE FROM THE GOODWILL WORKS PROGRAM AND SERVED 22 INDIVIDUALS IN THE HOMEBUYERS CLUB PROGRAM.

IS A 501C3 THAT MAINLY RESALES DONATED GOODS SUCH AS CLOTHING AND HOUSEHOLD GOODS IN 18 RETAIL STORES WHILE OFFERING EMPLOYMENT TO 710 PEOPLE WITH MAINLY DISADVANTAGES (646) AND DISABILITIES (64) BARRIERS IN DESOTO, HARDEE, MANATEE AND SARASOTA COUNTIES. ADDITIONALLY, THE ORGANIZATION OFFERS THREE CORE PROGRAMS WHICH ARE: (1) THE GOODPARTNER COACH PROGRAM OFFERS EACH GOODWILL TEAM MEMBER WITH A LIFE COACH WHO PROVIDES SUPPORT AND HELPS FACILITATE GOALS FOR EACH TEAM MEMBER, MOVING THEM FORWARD IN THEIR JOB AND IN LIFE. (2) THE JOB CONNECTION SERVES ANYONE WITH RESUME WRITING OR ASSISTING WITH MOCK INTERVIEWS. THE JOB CONNECTION WILL ASSIST EACH CLIENT IN FINDING A MEANINGFUL JOB EITHER AT THE ORGANIZATION OR THROUGH ONE OF THE HUNDREDS OF EMPLOYER PARTNERSHIPS THAT THE ORGANIZATION HAS. IN 2019, THE JOB CONNECTION SERVED 803 PEOPLE RESULTING IN COMMUNITY PLACEMENTS FOR 324 PEOPLE WITH AN AVERAGE WAGE OF $11.92/HOUR. 92% OF THOSE PLACED WERE EMPLOYED IN AN ORGANIZATION WITH BENEFITS. (3) THE VETERANS SERVICES TEAM OFFERS REINTEGRATION SERVICES TO VETERANS AND THEIR FAMILIES IN FINDING AND MAINTAINING EMPLOYMENT. IN 2019, THERE WERE VETERANS AND THEIR FAMILIES SERVED RESULTING IN 53 PEOPLE BEING PLACED AT AN AVERAGE WAGE OF $13.37/HOUR WITH A 80% RETENTION RATE.
