WORKFORCE INNOVATION AND OPPORTUNITY ACT (WIOA) PROGRAM - WIOA PROGRAMSPROVIDE YOUTH ADULTS AND DISLOCATED WORKERS WITH THE INFORMATION,ADVICE AND JOB SEARCH ASSISTANCE AND TRAINING THEY NEED TO GET AND KEEPGOOD JOBS AND PROVIDE EMPLOYERS WITH SKILLED WORKERS. THE ADULT PROGRAMPROVIDES TRAINING AND SUPPORT TO ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED PERSONSAGED 22 AND OLDER. THE DISLOCATED WORKER PROGRAM FOCUSES ONPARTICIPANTS THAT HAVE BEEN LAID OFF AND ARE UNLIKELY TO RETURN TOTHEIR FORMER OCCUPATION. THE NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS SERVED IN THE ADULTAND DISLOCATED WORKER PROGRAMS DURING THE YEAR WAS 646. THE YOUTHPROGRAM SERVES PARTICIPANTS AGES 16-21 WHO HAVE BARRIERS TO OBTAININGEMPLOYMENT. 99 YOUTH PARTICIPANTS WERE SERVED DURING THE FISCAL YEAR.

WELFARE TRANSITION PROGRAM - THIS PROGRAM FUNDED BY THE DEPARTMENT OFHEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES GRANT, TEMPORARY ASSISTANCE FOR NEEDYFAMILIES, IS DESIGNED TO EMPHASIZE WORK, SELF-SUFFICIENCY, AND PERSONALRESPONSILITY FOR WELFARE RECIPIENTS AND TO ENABLE THEM TO MOVE FROMWELFARE TO WORK. 520 PARTICIPANTS WERE SERVED DURING THE YEAR AND 184PARTICIPANTS WERE SUCCESSFULLY EMPLOYED.

EMPLOYMENT SERVICE PROGRAMS - THESE PROGRAMS INCLUDE WAGNER PEYSER ANDVETERANS SERVICES. WAGNER-PEYSER PROGRAMS ARE DESIGNED TO IMPROVE THEFUNCTIONING OF THE NATION'S LABOR MARKET BY BRINGING TOGETHERINDIVIDUALS WHO ARE SEEKING EMPLOYMENT WITH THE EMPLOYERS WHO ARESEEKING WORKERS. THE PROGRAM INCLUDES RECRUITMENT, REFERRALS,ASSESSMENTS AND COACHING, JOB FAIRS AND A MOBILE CAREER OPPORTUNITYWHICH OFFERS THE SAME SERVICES TO AREAS OUTSIDE OF LOCAL TRANSPORTATIONAREAS. VETERANS PROGRAMS ARE USED TO PROVIDE JOB DEVELOPMENT, PLACEMENTAND SUPPORT SERVICES FOR DISABLED AND OTHER VETERANS AND TO PROVIDEOUTREACH TO VETERANS THROUGH COMMUNITY AGENCIES AND ORGANIZATIONS.TOTAL PERSONS SERVED DURING THE YEAR UNDER THESE PROGRAMS WAS 16,150.1,568 PERSONS WERE PLACED IN EMPLOYMENT.
