Organizations Filed Purposes:
Family Network on Disabilities is a national network of individuals of all ages who may be at-risk, have disabilities, or have special needs and their families, professionals, and concerned citizens. The mission of Family Network on Disabilities is striving for complete integration and equality of people with disabilities in a society without barriers.
To ensure through collaboration that individuals have full access to family-driven support, education, information, resources, and advocacy and to serve families of children with disabilities, ages birth through twenty-six, who have the full range of disabilities described in section 602(3) of IDEA.
The Parent Support Network (PSN) Program, funded by the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP), is the Parent Training Information (PTI) center for the Central and Northeast of Florida (Brevard, Citrus, De Soto, Hardee, Hernando, Highlands, Hillsborough, Indian River, Lake, Manatee, Okeechobee, Orange, Osceola, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, Sarasota, Seminole, St. Lucie, and Sumter). These PTI services help to ensure that parents of children with the full range of disabilities have the training and information they need to prepare their children for not only school, but to be able to lead productive, independent lives to the fullest extent possible. PSN offers free help and information to families of students with disabilities and the professionals that serve them. The main focus is on the educational needs of students with disabilities.
The Parents of the Panhandle Information Network (POPIN) Program, funded by the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP), provides parent training and information (PTI) services to the Panhandle of Florida from Escambia to Volusia County (Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, Walton, Calhoun, Gulf, Bay, Washington, Jackson, Liberty, Holmes, Franklin, Wakulla, Gadsden, Leon, Jefferson, Taylor, Madison, Hamilton, Dixie, Suwannee, Lafayette, Gilchrist, Columbia, Baker, Levy, Alachua, Union, Bradford, Nassau, Duval, St. John's, Clay, Putnam, Flagler, Marion, and Volusia). These PTI services help to ensure that the parents of children with the full range of disabilities have the training and information they need to prepare their children for not only school, but to be able to lead productive, independent lives to the fullest extent possible. POPIN offers free help and information to families of students with disabilities and the professionals that serve them. The main focus is on the educational needs of students with disabilities.
