Organizations Filed Purposes: Guardian ad Litem volunteers are appointed by the court to be the voice of the child in court and the child's best interest is their only interest. They help them both in and out of the courtroom to make sure the children's needs are met by the system and they are often the only consistent adult in a child's life. Foster children often need more support than the system can provide and we are there when they need help.

We advocate for and support children, young adults, and families impacted by abuse and neglect in Pinellas and Pasco Counties by collaborating with community partners and the Guardian ad Litem staff and volunteers who support the children we serve.

This year, 947 volunteers advocated for over 2,300 abused and neglected children in our community. Children with advocates are more likely to find a safe, permanent home; are more likely to succeed in school; and are more likely to receive the care they need to address trauma. In 2019, we fulfilled 4,806 needs requests for the children we serve. 1,280 children were stabilized in crisis situations through providing for emergency and basic needs; 809 received educational support in the form of tutoring, backpacks, school supplies or graduation fees; 1,924 received gifts to celebrate milestones like birthdays, holidays, and achievements; and 793 were able to participate in summer camp, sports or other extracurricular activities to let kids be kids.
