The mission of Braveheart Properties is to assist working, economically challenged families, veterans, and widows (a) avoid homelessness or (b) recover from homelessness by providing quality, affordable housing with financial education.
Organization provided quality, affordable housing to low-income families and individuals.
Organization mobilized some two hundred fifty volunteers to assist with the construction and maintenance of a chicken coop and garden beds for the community and for each individual residential home. The idea here is to teach the residents to grow their own food, thus supplementing their diets with good, nutritional food while reducing their grocery bills. It has been wonderful to see how the residents, and, in particular, their children, enjoy the whole process of planting, then waiting for the sprouts, then tending to the plants until they get to actually harvest the food. To instill in young people the joy of tending to the good earth has been truly gratifying.
