Organizations Filed Purposes:
To promote, protect and represent the educational, social and business interests of farmers of the county and to enhance the future of agriculture.
We participated in Farm City which is a national event that brings together farmers, ranchers, fruit growers, public leaders and urban businessmen and women. This coalition project is a means to educate the public about our organizations purpose and mission.
Brevard County Farm Bureau sponsored an 'Ag Education Day'. We were able to reach 660 students, grade kindergarten through 5th. We focused on five agriculture commodities; dairy, beef, citrus, honey, and poultry. We gave hands on demonstrations and sent supporting material home with teachers. These types of programs give us to educate students at an early age the importance of agriculture and how it affects our daily lives.
Brevard County Farm Bureau supports our youth who participate in the fair. Students learn the proper care of animals, how to market the animails and develope presentation skills through competitive exhibitions. This is an opportunity for students to interact with industry professionals who mentor and guide them throught the pursuits in the agriculture industry.
