To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind and body for all.
Nurture Youth Development. The YMCA provides for and fosters an environment where all children and teens have the opportunity to feel comfortable exploring new interests and passions and have the ability to envision a positive future by discovering the potential of who they are. Through the right leadership and enrichment programs, and through leadership programs, children and teens learn leadership skills to enable them to take active roles in strengthening their community. Youth Development Goals: Youth Enrichment. Youth develop critical life skills including increased academic and social self-confidence through before and after school programs. Youth Sports. Children and teens participate in organized sports programs enabling them to improve physical development and social skills. Youth Swim and Water Safety. Youth develop swimming skills that result in a decrease in the drowning rate for children in the Emerald Coast area.
4b - Promote Healthy Living. The YMCA strives to be the benchmark, from which individuals, families, organizations and communities emulate, as we work to reclaim or maintain the balance between spirit, mind and body. Committed to supporting people in their efforts to be active, engaged and healthy, the Y is a place where all in our community can challenge themselves to learn a new skill, connect with others and focus on family. Promote Healthy Living Goals: Membership. Participation in Y memberships encourage all members to engage with the Y on a weekly basis. Our Y memberships represent the community and reflect the demographics of community reach. Land and Aquatic Fitness. Men and women are able to continue exercise as part of their healthy lifestyle after 90 days - a critical habit-changing time period. Coaching Connection. Close to 80% of members who engage in the Y for a minimum of two times a week for one year will report that they have made positive changes that have led to improved health and well-being. Through supportive relationships and environments, our staff of instructors, coaches and trainers will remain ready to assist in bridging the gap so every health seeker can realize their true potential in the successful pursuit of health and well-being.
Foster Social Responsibility. The generosity and commitment of volunteers and advocates is at the core of the Y's existence as a non-profit. The YMCA recruits and supports the efforts of volunteers and advocates to give back to the communities we engage. The Y is committed to giving all people the tools and support to live healthy, connected and secure lives. Foster Social Responsibility Goals: Volunteerism. The YMCA of Florida's Emerald Coast benefits as the YMCA empowers our members, participants, associates and friends to be socially responsible through volunteerism, philanthropy and advocacy. Donor Support. Engage active Y member households to make an annual gift to the YMCA. Engage 100% of Board members as active participants in association with fundraising strategies. Partnerships. The YMCA enhances through the development and maintenance of key community partnerships, services that contribute to the long-term health and well-being of adults and families in the Emerald Coast area. In addition, the YMCA seeks to maintain and build new facilities through capital program donations.
