COMMUNITY COALITION ALLIANCE AND ONE VOICE FOR VOLUSIA COALITION FUNDING: COMMUNITY COALITION FUNDING: UTILIZED TO REDUCE AND PREVENT YOUTH SUBSTANCE ABUSE THROUGH THE PROVISION OF ENVIRONMENTAL STRATEGIES AND BEST PRACTICE APPROACHES THAT REDUCE RISK FACTORS AND BUILD POSITIVE PROTECTIVE FACTORS AROUND OUR YOUTH. BY MOBILIZING ONE VOICE FOR VOLUSIA'S COALITION, OVER 15,000 YOUTH AND THEIR FAMILIES WERE DIRECTLY IMPACTED THROUGH VARIOUS BEST PRACTICE PREVENTION STRATEGIES THANKS TO HUNDREDS OF VOLUNTEERS, IN-KIND SUPPORT AND PARTNERSHIPS. HOSTED 1,000 YOUTH IN PARTNERSHIP WITH MINOR LEAGUE BASEBALL PARTNERS, THE DAYTONA TORTUGAS, AT THE THIRD ANNUAL JACKIE ROBINSON EVENT. ONE VOICE FOR VOLUSIA COALITION SUBSCRIPTIONS CONTRIBUTE TO RUNNING AN ACTIVE COALITION THAT MEETS MONTHLY WITH BETWEEN 80 AND 160 ATTENDEES PER MEETING. 874 COMMUNITY LEADERS PARTICIPATED THIS YEAR, REPRESENTING 105 MEMBER AGENCIES AND ORGANIZATIONS AND CONTRIBUTING OVER 3,000 HOURS TO COALITION INITIATIVES. SUBSCRIPTIONS ALSO SUPPORT THE COMMUNITY CONNECTOR, A WEEKLY E-BLAST INFORMATION SYSTEM REACHING OVER 2800 HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES PROFESSIONALS. ONE MILLION E-MAIL CAMPAIGNS WERE SENT OVER THIS FISCAL YEAR.
COMMUNITY AGENDA FUNDING: TO ENGAGE THE COMMUNITY BY EXAMINING DATA AND ESTABLISHING PRIORITIES TO IMPROVE LOCAL HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES. -RELEASED THE TWELFTH ANNUAL COMMUNITY AGENDA SNAPSHOT IN SEPTEMBER 2017 FILLED WITH 5 YEAR TREND DATA FOR VOLUSIA AND FLAGLER COUNTIES AND CURRENT COMMUNITY DEMOGRAPHICS VITAL FOR OUR COMMUNITY TO EVALUATE THE EFFECTIVENESS OF CURRENT PROGRAMS AND TO DETERMINE THE NEED FOR SOLUTIONS. -THROUGHOUT THE YEAR DATA IS UPDATED AND CAN BE FOUND ONLINE BY VISITING WWW.AGENDAVF.ORG. FACILITATED THE THRIVE BY FIVE COLLABORATIVE OBTAINING NATIONAL, STATE AND LOCAL SUPPORT FOR PRENATAL TO FIVE PRIORITIES.
HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES SUMMIT: - HOSTED ANNUALLY EACH FALL CONNECTING OVER 80 AGENCIES TO ONE ANOTHER AND THE COMMUNITY WITH 250 ATTENDEES. -16 PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT COURSES, MANY WITH CEU'S OFFERED AT NO COST TO PARTICIPANTS. PROVIDED WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT TO OVER 300 PARTICIPANTS. - OFFERED FREE FLU SPOTS FROM WALGREENS, FREE EYE EXAMS, GLUCOSE SCREENINGS, AND BLOOD PRESSURE MONITORING OFFERED BY EXHIBITORS.
