StreetWaves is a leading mentorsip program that empowers youth from under-resourced communities through marine-based education that teaches swimming, surfing, boating, ocean safety and environmental science.
StreetWaves Ocean Enrichment Program for Deerfield Beach Middle School is designed to provide swimming, surfing, ocean safety skills, environmental education, social skill development, and mentorship during after-school hours. Our innovative and exciting program supports youth to achieve higher self-esteem, develop social skills and engage in empowering and educational ocean activities and education that provide an inspiring new experience. We offer valuable time with youth mentors trained in conscious communication and positive feedback where we engage students in a fun, productive and safe haven away from domesticated risk factors. We also teach important skills to prevent bullying and use teachable moments to work thorugh lifes challenges together. Our program operates from school dismissal until 6pm, Monday through Friday on each school day throughout the school year.
StreetWaves Summer Swim and Surf Camp. PROGRAM 4 weekly camp sessions Monday through Friday that will provide swimming and surfing services for up to 10 youth participants per week. CAMPERS 15-25 youth participants ages 6-18 that are currently enrolled in the Big Brothers and Big Sisters program in Deerfield Beach and 10-15 youth currently enrolled in the New Day Diversion Alternatives for Youth Program of Memorial Healthcare Systems. DATES Monday, June 19, 2017 and runs weekly through Friday, July 14, 2017.
Streetwaves Saturday Surf Sessions. Offers complimentary surf lessons and environmental education for youth in need in the communities of Miam-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties. Every Saturday from noon until 4pm.
