The mission of Camp Boggy Creek is to foster a spirit of joy by creating a free, safe and medically-sound camp environment that enriches the lives of children with serious illnesses and their families. During our 8 week long summer sessions, children get the opportunity to experience the best of what summer camp has to offer; horseback riding, boating & fishing, arts & crafts, theater and much more, with children who have similar medical conditions at a beautiful camp setting which has a fully staffed, state of the art medical facility. We also offer 17 family retreat weekends where families can take a break from their day to day challenges, meet other families facing similar challenges and enjoy our beautiful camping facility.
CAMP BOGGY CREEK IS A PLACE WHERE CHILDREN FACING THE CHALLENGES OF LIVING WITH CHRONIC OR LIFE-THREATENING ILLNESS CAN BE SURROUNDED BY OTHER CHILDREN
A Summary of our Program Accomplishments is attached. Camp Boggy Creek hosted 8 week long summer camping sessions serving 1,106 children from 15 disease groups including, but not limited to, Heart Disease, Bleeding Disorders, Rheumatic Disease, Cancer, Epilepsy, Sickle Cell and Immune Disorders. During 2019 Camp Boggy Creek delivered 6,474 summer camper days of service.
A Summary of our Program Accomplishments is attached. Camp Boggy Creek hosted 17 Family Retreat weekends providing children with serious illnesses and their families a weekend of respite and the opportunity to create lasting friendships with other families facing similar challenges. During 2019, Camp Boggy Creek hosted 2,190 campers and their family members delivering 6,417 weekend camper days of service. In addition, a one day Holiday Celebration hosted 948 campers and their families to a day of fun and festivities.
