Awards Gala for Design & Leadership: The Design Awards give recognition to our international industry peers for yachts completed during the previous year. Usually some 50 - 75 yachts are entered, 30 finalists are selected by membership and 7 ultimately receive award during the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. This recognition is widely viewed as the one award program that really matters by most owners, builders, designers and industry individuals, since their selection is based on unbiased industry input and the finalists are chosen by a group of the industry's most prolific designers and builders. Between 300 and 400 individuals attend the Gala event. The event recognizing these accomplishments and the awards are associated with the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. Awards given are for the best boats in various size categories as well as Business/Person of the Year Award, Leadership Award, the Fabian Cousteau Blue Award, the Distinguished Crew Award, Artisan Award & Technology Award, among others.
Mixers: Networking event in the Mediterranean for our members and colleagues living and working on different corners of the world who often do not have the opportunity to attend the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show or other events. It is a way for us to give our sponsors recognition in their areas of expertise, which potentially helps growth for their business in the yachting community. Mixers were held in Monaco, Amsterdam and Singapore during 2018.
Regular communication with members via email to update them with information about the organization and current issues and events within the large yacht industry. The website also provides resources for members and other guests and serves as another communication tool, as well as promoting the society.
