FORM 990 PROGRAM SERVICE ACCOMPLISHMENTS (CONTINUED): THE COMPANY PROVIDED THEATRE PATRONS IN SOUTHWEST FLORIDA AN OPPORTUNITY TO EXPERIENCE NEW PROVOCATIVE WORKS AMIDST THE COMPANY'S STRONG REINVENTION OF CLASSICAL AND MUSICAL THEATRICAL PERFORMANCES THAT THEY HAVE GROWN TO LOVE IN THE HEART OF THE FORT MYERS' RIVER DISTRICT. FLORIDA REP PRODUCES ON TWO STAGES IN THE 100+ YEAR-OLD ARCADE THEATER, AND DURING MOST OF THE 2019- 2020 SEASON, PATRONS WERE VIRTUALLY WITHOUT AN EVENING WHEN THEY COULD NOT ENJOY PROFESSIONAL THEATRE. FIVE MAIN STAGE (LARGEST PROGRAM SERVICE) AND THREE ARTSTAGE (SECOND LARGEST PROGRAM SERVICE) PRODUCTIONS RAN SEPTEMBER TO MID-MARCH, WHICH PROVIDED THEATRICAL AND CULTURAL OPPORTUNITIES AT THE HEIGHT OF THE RESIDENTIAL AND VISITOR SEASONS. AS THE PERFORMING ARTS ANCHOR IN THE RIVER DISTRICT, FLORIDA REP HAS PROMINENTLY LED THE RIVER DISTRICT ALLIANCE AND ITS CULTURAL PARTNERS IN A RENAISSANCE FOR THE PEOPLE OF LEE COUNTY. FLORIDA REP CONTINUES TO REACH NOT ONLY ITS DEDICATED THEATRE PATRONS, BUT ALSO INVOLVE MORE THAN 30,000 STUDENTS AND YOUNG PEOPLE IN ITS MYRIAD OUTREACH & EDUCATION PROGRAMS (THIRD LARGEST PROGRAM SERVICE) ACROSS THE FIVE COUNTY REGIONS OF SOUTHWEST FLORIDA, AND OFTEN NORTH TO PINELLAS AND WEST TO PALM BEACH AND BROWARD COUNTIES. DESPITE AN EARLY CLOSE THE FLORIDA REP SEASON IN MARCH 2020, OVER 58,000 PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS ENJOYED LIVE PROFESSIONAL THEATRE. STUDENT MATINEES OF MAIN STAGE SHOWS (FEATURING BACK STAGE TOURS, ACTOR TALKBACKS AND BEFORE-PERFORMANCE STUDY GUIDES) CONTINUED TO SERVE PRIMARILY YOUTH FROM DISADVANTAGED COMMUNITIES AND TITLE 1 PUBLIC SCHOOLS THROUGHOUT THE COUNTY. AS FOR ITS APPEAL TO A LARGER REGIONAL AND NATIONAL AUDIENCE, FLORIDA REP RECEIVED A TENTH CONSECUTIVE RAVE IN THE WALL STREET JOURNAL FROM CRITIC AND BIOGRAPHER TERRY TEACHOUT WHEN HE PROCLAIMED THAT FLORIDA REP IS "ONE OF THE TOP REGIONAL TROUPES IN THE U.S." MORE THAN 230 VOLUNTEERS WORKED ON BEHALF OF THEATRE PROGRAMS PROVIDING 14,000 HOURS OF SERVICE. AS LEE COUNTY'S LARGEST PERFORMING ARTS ORGANIZATION, FLORIDA REP PUMPED 7.15 MILLION FROM THE RIVER DISTRICT OUTWARD THROUGH LEE COUNTY AND ALL OF SOUTHWEST FLORIDA. THE PROGRAM IS DESIGNED FOR ARTISTS WITH MODERATE TO ADVANCED-LEVEL EXPERIENCE AND GIVES STUDENTS WHO WANT TO PURSUE THEATRE AN INTRODUCTION TO THE PROFESSIONAL WORLD WITH A REAL-LIFE REGIONAL THEATRE EXPERIENCE. THE CONSERVATORY PROGRAM GIVES EMERGING THEATRE ARTISTS A CREATIVE OUTLET AND A PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE AND CULMINATES WITH A SHORT RUN OF PUBLIC PERFORMANCES. FLORIDA REP OFFERED TWO CONSERVATORY PRODUCTIONS, MATILDA - THE MUSICAL AND BAT BOY - THE MUSICAL IN 2019-2020.
