TO STRENGHTEN AND INSTILL PRIDE IN FAMILY AND COMMUNITY THROUGH THE DEVELOPMENT OF PROGRAMS AND INSTITUTIONS THAT CULTIVATE SELF-DEVELOPMENT, TEACH SELF-DISIPLINE, BUILD CONFIDENCE AND PROMOTE CUTURAL AWARENESS.
THE ACE (ARTS, CHARACTER & EDUCATION) PROGRAM INCLUDES AFTERSCHOOL, SUMMER CAMP AND TEEN LEADERSHIP PROGRAMS. THE ACE PROGRAM TARGETS AT-RISK CHILDREN AND YOUTH AGES 5-18. THE PROGRAM INCLUDES ENGAGING EDUCATIONAL PROJECTS TO HELP STUDENTS BECOME ACADEMICALLY COMPETITIVE, ARTS TO BUILD CONFIDENCE, DISCIPLINE AND RESILIENCE, AND CONSISTENT CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. THE PROGRAM HELPS AT-RISK YOUTH REALIZE THEIR POTENTIAL AND FOSTER THEIR ABILITIES LARGELY THROUGH ACADEMIC ENRICHMENT. THE ACE PROGRAM IS BASED ON DURLAK AND WEISSBERG'S SAFE MODEL WHICH USES EVIDENCE-BASED PRACTICES FOR ENHANCING YOUNG PEOPLE'S PERSONAL AND SOCIAL SKILLS. THIS IS NOT A DROP-IN PROGRAM. THE ORGANIZATION STRIVES TO MAKE A REAL DIFFERENCE IN A CHILD'S LIFE WITH CONSISTENT INSTRUCTION AND MENTORING. CHILDREN ATTEND THE PROGRAM DAILY. QUALITY LIFE CENTER IS A CERTIFIED CHILD CARE PROGRAM IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF CHILDREN AND FAMILIES REGULATIONS. STAFF TRAINING TAKES PLACE SEVERAL TIMES EACH YEAR. STUDENTS ARE GIVEN RESPONSIBILITIES, AND TEENS PARTICIPATE IN LEADERSHIP AND EXPOSURE ACTIVITIES IN ADDITION TO REGULAR ACADEMIC AND ARTS ACTIVITIES. AS A DIRECT RESULT OF ACE PROGRAM, 76% OF YOUTH WHO COMPLETED THE AFTERSCHOOL AND/OR SUMMER CAMP PROGRAM INCREASED THEIR KNOWLEDGE AND DEMONSTRATION OF POSITIVE BEHAVIOR, TEAMWORK AND SOCIAL SKILLS. 77% OF YOUTH WHO COMPLETED THE AFTERSCHOOL AND/OR SUMMER CAMP PROGRAM INCREASED THEIR MATH SKILLS OR MAINTAINED AN A OR B GRADE LEVEL. 78% OF YOUTH WHO COMPLETED THE AFTERSCHOOL AND/OR SUMMER CAMP PROGRAM INCREASED THEIR READING SKILLS OR MAINTAINED AN A OR B GRADE LEVEL.
