Organizations Filed Purposes:
Acute Care and Residential Programs-SalusCare is an approved and designated public Baker Act Receiving Facility, accepting individuals who are placed under a 72 hour involuntary hold after they have been deemed a harm to themselves or others due to the direct effects of behavioral health disorder(s). In 2019, 2,091 adults and 881 children were cared for in our crisis units. SalusCare also operates a 20-bed adult inpatient Detoxification Unit. In 2019, the Detoxification Unit served 1,282 adults. SalusCare has Residential care as a part of its treatment continuum for both children and adults. The Vince Smith Center is a juvenile residential treatment facility for adolescents with the disease of addiction. In 2019, the Vince Smith Center served 47 adolescents. Also operated by SalusCare is the Transitional Living Campus, a combination of transitional living/halfway house and permanent supportive housing. In 2019, 487 individuals were served by this program.
Community-based programs-SalusCare offers several community-based programs thus allowing patients and families to be served in their homes or at other locations within the community. Therapeutic Behavioral On-Site Services are available and include case management, parenting and evidence-based programs. In 2019, SalusCare served 150 patients in this program. There are also adult-based community services including Forensic and Diversion services which seek to divert individuals with serious mental illnesses from unnecessary institutionalization and/or criminalization. In 2019, 2,089 adults received community based services through SalusCare.
Outpatient Programs-SalusCare offers three outpatient locations in Lee County (two in Ft. Myers and one in Cape Coral). The organization provided outpatient mental health and substance abuse services in 2019 to more than 9,895 adults and 2,521 children through therapy and/or psychiatric services. Outpatient services is one of the primary services provided by SalusCare with nearly 75% of patients utilizing this service. Patients receive a multitude of services in outpatient programs including screening, individual and group therapy and medical services. Service delivery is dictated and dependent upon the unique and diverse needs of each patient and family.
