UNITED COMMUNITY FUNDRAISING
EDUCATION IS THE CORNERSTONE OF INDIVIDUAL & COMMUNITY SUCCESS. THE ORGANIZATION WORKS TO PURSUE & ADVANCE EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES AT EVERY LEVEL FROM EARLY LEARNING THROUGH COLLEGE AND ADULTHOOD. THE COMMUNITY OBJECTIVES ARE TO ACHIEVE KINDERGARTEN READINESS, PROFICIENT READING BY THIRD GRADE AND TO INCREASE THE HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION RATE. THE ORGANIZATION SUPPORTS PROGRAMS THAT INCLUDE, AMONGST OTHER THINGS, SUBSIDIES TO WORKING FAMILIES FOR QUALITY PRE-K PROGRAMS, ONE-TO-ONE READING MENTORS, TUTORIAL AND AFTER SCHOOL EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS AND INTERVENTION AND PREVENTION PROGRAMS.
THE ORGANIZATION SUPPORTS INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES AS THEY WORK TO ACHIEVE JOB READINESS, AFFORDABLE HOUSING AND IMPROVE CREDIT SCORES- ALL GEARED TOWARDS BECOMING AND REMWINING FINANCIALLY STABLE. THE ORGANIZATION UNDERSTANDS THAT PROVIDING A SAFETY NET FOR BASIC NEEDS IS VITAL TO ACHIENIG FINANCIAL STABILITY AND THAT SUPPORTING PROGRAMS THAT HELP PEOPLE SECURE EMPLOYENT, PREVENT HOMELESSNESS, PROVIDE NUTRITIONAL MEALS, PROVIDE CLOTHING FOR SCHOOL AND EMPLOYMENT, FINACIAL ASSISTANCE AND EDUCATION, GOAL SETTING AND FINDING RESOURCES NECESSARY FOR SURVIVAL, IS IMPORTANT TO THE OVERALL WELLBEING OF OUR COMMUNITY.
THE ORGANIZATION BELIEVES THAT THE HEALTH OF INDIVIDUALS IS A STRONG INDICATOR OF THE HEALTH OF THE COMMUNITY AND THAT SUPPORTING PROGRAMS THAT MEET THE NEEDS OF INDIVIDUALS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS, PROVIDING ACCESS TO FREE AND REDUCED COST HEALTHCARE SERVICES, PREVENTING AND TREATING SUBSTANCE ABUSE, SUPPORTING NEW MOTHERS AND HEALTHCARE SERVICES FOR INFANTS, SUPPORTING THOSE WHO ARE HEARING IMPAIRED, AND PROVIDING DENTAL EXAMS AND DENTAL CARE FOR PRE-K AND SCHOOL-AGE CHILDREN, IS IMPORTANT TO THE OVERALL HEALTH OF THE COMMUNITY. THIS PAST YEAR 42,000 INDIVIDUALS RECEIVED SERVICES IN THE AREA OF HEALTH.
