OUR PRIVATE, NONPROFIT ANIMAL SANCTUARY IS COMMITTED TO SERVING THE EMERALD COAST AS: THE PREMIER NO-KILL REFUGE, PROVIDING PROTECTION, SHELTER AND CARE TO ANIMALS IN NEED; A FULL-SERVICE ANIMAL ADOPTION CENTER; AND A PEACEFUL, PROACTIVE ANIMAL WELFARE ADVOCATE THROUGH EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH AND COMMUNITY PROGRAMS.
TO ADVOCATE THE GENERAL WELFARE AND HUMANE TREATMENT OF ANIMALS BY PROVIDING SHELTER, PREVENTION OF PET OVERPOPULATION AND ADOPTION SERVICES.
THROUGH THEIR ADOPTION AND RESCUE SERVICES, ALAQUA HAS RESCUED LOCAL DOGS, CATS, HORSES AND OTHER WILDLIFE, OFFERING REHABILITATION TO ABUSED ANIMALS, AND A SAFE HOME FOR ALL.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH: ANIMAL CRUELTY INVESTIGATION AND PROSECUTION SEMINARS: FREE EDUCATIONAL TRAINING SEMINARS ARE OFFERED TO LAW ENFORCEMENT, PROSECUTORS, SHELTERS, RESCUES AND ANIMAL WELFARE ADVOCATES ON METHODS AND PROCEDURES TO ENSURE SAFETY FOR ANIMALS AND TO HOLD THOSE WHO COMMIT ANIMAL CRUELTY ACCOUNTABLE. ALAQUA ANIMAL REFUGE KIDS: THIS CLUB IS FOR CHILDERN TO LEARN COMPASSION AND RESPECT FOR LIFE BY CARING FOR ANIMALS. AARK IS DEDICATED TO TEACHING CHILDREN THE VALUE OF PROTECTING ANIMALS AND GIVING BACK TO THEIR COMMUNITY.
ALAQUA UNLEASHED: TO DEVELOP AND MAINTAIN A CONTAINED, NATURE-FRIENDLY, OFF-LEASH/ON-LEASH DOG PARK, WHERE WELL-BEHAVED CANINES AND MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY CAN EXERCISE AND SOCIALIZE IN A CLEAN, SAFE ENVIRONMENT. TO DEVELOP AND MAINTAIN AN ATTRACTIVE SPACE FOR MUSIC, ART AND COMMUNITY EVENTS OPEN TO ALL. TO PROMOTE EDUCATION, TRAINING AND RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES THAT FACILITATE RESPONSIBLE DOG OWNERSHIP AND BETTER-BEHAVED DOGS THROUGH THE USE OF VOLUNTEERS AND PROFESSIONAL DOG TRAINERS. TO VIEW THIS PARK AS A COMMUNITY PROJECT, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH WALTON COUNTY, FLA. DESIGNED TO SATISFY THE NEEDS OF DOG-OWNERS AND NON-DOG OWNERS ALIKE AND SERVE AS A SUPPORTIVE ARM TO THE ALAQUA ANIMAL REFUGE.
