A PATHWAY TO DEVELOP, EMPOWER, AND EDUCATE THOSE WITH FOOD INSECURITIES
We provide support to low income families and individuals in the South Lake County area. We assist our clients with food, educational training, cooking classes and partnering with other organizations to assist with filing applications for food stamps, medicaid and emergency assitance. We distribute food from our location four days a week and monthly mobile food drop locations at both ends of South Lake County. We utilize the services of more than 131 volunteers, voluteering more than 11,433 hours and in 2019 served a total of 117,122 clients, distributing over 908,064 pounds of food, of which 607,589 pounds were donated, with a donated value of $984,294.18.
Summer Feeding Program - To provide 3 meals and 2 snacks for 5 days for school aged children in the South Lake County area who are the Centers clients or referred by schools in our servicing area. We had 10 volunteers who help distribute meals to 505 children, for 10 weeks.
