TO ENABLE PARTICIPANTS TO ATTAIN SELF SUFFICIENCY BY PROVIDING THEM WITH ALL THE TOOLS NECESSARY TO OBTAIN AND MAINTAIN THEIR ECONOMIC INDEPENDENCE.
STATE OF FLORIDA - OFFICE OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL: THIS PROGRAM PROVIDES AT RISK YOUTH AGES 16-21 WITH SCREENING AND ASSESSMENT, EMPLOYABILITY SKILLS TRAINING, CAREER EXPLORATION, WORK EXPERIENCE AND DIRECT JOB PLACEMENT. WE ALSO PROVIDE BUS PASSES IN ORDER TO ASSIST WITH THEIR JOB SEARCH. DURING 2019 CCI SUCCESSFULLY ENROLLED 381 YOUTHS. OF THOSE 381, 176 COMPLETED 79 HOURS OF WORK EXPERIENCE, 172 COMPLETED 40 HOURS OF WORK EXPERIENCE, 381 RECEIVED EMPLOYABILITY SKILLS TRAINING, 32 WERE DIRECT PLACEMENTS, 98 RECEIVED TRANSPORTATION (BP), 381 REMAINED CRIME-FREE AND 379 STAYED IN SCHOOL.
REFUGEE EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING PROGRAM: PROVIDES THE REFUGEE POPULATION WITH ELIGIBILITY SCREENING AND ASSESSMENT, EMPLOYABILITY SKILLS TRAINING, JOB PLACEMENT SERVICES, AS WELL AS REFERRALS TO ESOL, VOCATIONAL TRAINING, LEGAL SERVICES AND MANY OTHER RESOURCES IN THE COMMUNITY. OUR PURPOSE, IS TO ASSIST LOW INCOME REFUGEE INDIVIDUALS IN BECOMING SELF-SUFFICIENT MEMBERS OF SOCIETY. DURING 2019 WE SERVED 502 INDIVIDUALS. WE PLACED 489 REFUGEES IN UNSUBSIDIZED EMPLOYMENT.
WIA OUT OF SCHOOL PROGRAM: THE PROGRAM WAS CREATED FOR YOUTH BETWEEN 16 AND 24 YEARS WHO ARE NOT ENROLLED IN ANY EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM AT THE TIME OF ENROLLMENT. THE PROGRAM TARGETS YOUTH INDIVIDUALS FACING BARRIERS TO EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EMPLOYMENT SUCH AS DISABLED YOUTH, PREGNANT WOMEN OR SINGLE PARENTS, OFFENDERS, RUNAWAY, FOSTERS, YOUTH EXPERIENCING HOMELESSNESS, LOW INCOME INDIVIDUALS, AND GENERAL POPULATION. THE PROGRAM IS CURRENTLY SERVING A TOTAL OF 495 YOUTH, 79 OF THEM WERE ENROLLED BETWEEN JANUARY 1ST AND DECEMBER 31ST, 2019. THIS PROGRAM OFFERS A WIDE RANGE OF SERVICES TO SUPPORT THE EDUCATIONAL AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OF THEIR PARTICIPANTS. DURING THE YEAR 2019, A TOTAL OF 81 YOUTH PARTICIPATED IN A CLASS/WORK-BASED LEARNING ACTIVITY. THIS ACTIVITY INCLUDED 20 HOURS OF WORK READINESS SKILLS TRAINING AND 160 HOURS OF PAID WORK EXPERIENCE. PARTICIPANT ALSO RECEIVED TRANSPORTATION ASSISTANCE AND AN INCENTIVE BONUS FOR GOAL ATTAINMENT. A TOTAL OF 345 BUS PASSES WERE INVOICED DURING 2019 AND 60 PARTICIPANTS RECEIVED A $50 INCENTIVE CHECK FOR OBTAINING A CREDENTIAL OR ATTAINING BASIC SKILLS SUFFICIENCY DURING THEIR PARTICIPATION IN THE PROGRAM.
