HER SONG IS ENDING TRAFFICKING ONE LIFE AT A TIME THROUGH RESIDENTIAL SURVIVOR CARE PROGRAMS, VICTIM OUTREACH AND PREVENTION EDUCATION FOR CHILDREN.
HER SONG JACKSONVILLE PROVIDES TRAUMA-INFORMED EMPOWERMENT PROGRAMS FOR FEMALE SEX TRAFFICKING VICTIMS THROUGH RESIDENTIAL SERVICES AND COMMUNITY- BASED SERVICES. THE INCREASED NEED FOR SAFETY, HOUSING, AND DIRECT CARE SERVICES IS EVIDENT FROM THE OVER 590 REQUESTS FOR SERVICES HER SONG RECEIVED IN 2018 AND 2019. SINCE INCEPTION IN 2013, MORE THAN 1000 TRAFFICKING VICTIMS HAVE BEEN SCREENED, IDENTIFIED, REFERRED AND/OR SERVED THROUGH HER SONG'S RESIDENTIAL AND COMMUNITY-BASED PROGRAMS. HER SONG IS A FAITH-BASED ORGANIZATION SERVING ALL VICTIMS OF TRAFFICKING WITHOUT DISCRIMINATION: LABOR, SEX, FEMALES, MALES, MINORS, AND LGBTQ.
HER SONG PROVIDES SAFE HOUSING AND COMPREHENSIVE SERVICES THROUGH A GROWING NETWORK OF HOMES. CURRENTLY, HER SONG OPERATES TWO SAFE HOMES IN THE JACKSONVILLE AREA. THROUGH PHASED PROGRAMMING, RESIDENTS GAIN SKILLS TO NAVIGATE LIFE AND BUILD LONG-TERM HEALTH, WELL-BEING, AND SELF-SUFFICIENCY. HER SONG SERVICES INCLUDE SCREENINGS, ASSESSMENTS, AND REFERRALS TO COMMUNITY SERVICE PROVIDERS, SAFETY PLANNING, CASE MANAGEMENT, SAFE HOUSING, COUNSELING, LIFE SKILLS CLASSES, EDUCATIONAL PLANNING, AND ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT MENTORING PROGRAMS.
HER SONG WORKS WITH STRATEGIC PARTNERS IN LAW ENFORCEMENT, THE JUDICIARY, AND REFERRAL NETWORKS LOCALLY AND NATIONALLY TO ASSIST VICTIMS. HER SONG SERVES ON THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE FOR THE NEFL HUMAN TRAFFICKING COALITION AND CO-CHAIRS THE SERVICE PROVIDER COMMITTEE. HER SONG HAS BEEN RECOGNIZED BY THE JACKSONVILLE SHERIFF'S OFFICE WITH A MERITORIOUS AWARD IN 2019 FOR OUTSTANDING COMMUNITY SERVICE. WHEN THE FLORIDA STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION BECAME THE FIRST STATE IN THE NATION TO REQUIRE CHILD TRAFFICKING PREVENTION INSTRUCTION FOR EVERY CHILD, EVERY GRADE, EVERY YEAR, HER SONG BEGAN SERVING ON AN EXPERT PANEL ESTABLISHED BY THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION'S HUMAN TRAFFICKING EDUCATION SPECIALIST TO CREATE A FRAMEWORK FOR STANDARDIZED CURRICULUM. HER SONG CONTINUES IN A 4-YEAR PARTNERSHIP WITH DUVAL COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS AND A NEW PARTNERSHIP WITH A21 TO DEVELOP EVIDENCE-BASED HUMAN TRAFFICKING PREVENTION CURRICULUM THAT WILL HIGHLIGHT DUVAL COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS AS AN EXEMPLARY DISTRICT IN FLORIDA.
