To defeat poverty and erase its devastating effects on northeast Florida families by providing the education, empowerment and assistance that leads to self-sufficiency and a positive place within our community
Federal low income home energy assistance program monitored by dept.of Health and Human Services:During FY 2018-2019, the Northeast Florida Community Action Agency restored energy services for over 7550 households and Prevented disconnection of services for 7550. 4855 households with vulnerable population (Senior Citizens, Disabled or Children 5 and under) were assisted with services to reduce the energy burden. Over 20,000 individuals benefited from these services.
Commumity services block grant programs:During FY 2018-2019, the Northeast Florida Community Action Agency served over 829 households and 2532 individuals to become more self-sufficient through employment, education, financial literacy and other services to stabilize the family.
Department of Energy weatherization program including the State of Florida low income energy home repair program:WAP helps lower utility costs for eligible customers by replacing or repairing elements of a home that contribute to energy waste. The program is operational in Baker, Duval, Flagler, Nassau, and Putnam Counties. WAP assists homeowners and renters with gross incomes up to 200 percent of the Federal Poverty Guidelines with priority given to seniors, individuals with disabilities, and households with children. Repairs may include improving heating and air conditioning methods, attic/floor insulation, low flow shower heads, and minor ceiling/floor/wall repairs.In addition to improving the efficiency and safety of homes, WAP engages local contractors for weatherization work; that helps to support the economy throughout Northeast Florida. In fiscal year 2019, NFCAA weatherized 100 homes.
