Organizations Filed Purposes:
Our mission is to help young men 19-24 develop skills in life and family management and job placement. To partner with the city and Sheriff's Office to reduce violence in the Eastside community through the Cure Violence Initiative program through hiring and training young men who are known and respected in the community.
A 90-day program in partnership with the Sheriff's Office, City Jacksonville, State of Florida, and other Non-profit Organizations, to help young men 19-24 develop skills in life and family management and job placement; also, work in the community continuously to help prevent shootings and gang violence.
Continuous training of the Executive Director of Reintegration Solution Inc. of Jacksonville on Cure Violence Initiative program, and other areas pertaining to the grant for the program. Continuous training of a program manager to oversee the supervisors and workers. Next hiring and training, on an ongoing basis, individuals as violence interrupters, outreach workers, and outreach worker supervisors, to be in the community daily and communicate with the community, gangs to curb and try prevent violence. Violence interrupters, outreach workers and outreach worker supervisors work 5 days a week to reduce violence in the Eastside community through the Cure Violence Initiative program, and on call 24/7 on a regular basis to respond to any violence (i.e. shootings , stabbings) in the community by gangs and/or any other people in the community, and to try prevent further retaliation, by family member, friends, or gang associates. Conduct on a quarterly basis special events like cookouts for everyone in the community to come and participate in, and at the same time provide education on non-violent ways to resolve conflicts, and to show the community they have a advocate to come to. The Executive Director and Program Manager participate in special events, and from time to time go out into the community with the workers. Also go through some of the training with them in regards to the program.
