The RITA Championship went to a new site, Magnolia Point Golf Country Club this year, after no event last year. While the tennis portion of the event went well, the golf never really materialized and the expenses charged were drastically more than promised or expected. We will have to find a new site for 2021.
The MixedRITA tennis event scheduled for May was rescheduled for August because of Covid 19 concerns. In August, the event was cancelled. However, our fundraising efforts continued with excellent results. Proceeds went to Mayo Clinic for cancer research and to Baptist MD Anderson to fund our cancer endowments.
The SenoiRITAs at Sawgrass event, our largest, was scheduled for October but was cancelled due to Covid 19 concerns. We did proceed with fundraising and had extrodinary results considering all three parts of our even were cancelled. Proceeds of 45,000 went to Dr Coplands cancer lab at Mayo Clinic. Nine of our cancer endowments at Baptist received funds.
