Organizations Filed Purposes: Seniors on a Mission, Inc exists to love, honor, and encourage independent senior adults inspiring them to live invigorated lives filled with purpose and grace.

Seniors on a Mission, Inc. has 358 actively involved seniors that we nurture on a weekly basis. The seniors go on day-long, team-oriented "mission" service trips to local nonprofit organizations to perform much needed community service. In 2019, the seniors completed 86 mission trips. Together, the senoirs completed 9,376 service hours, touching the lives of thousands of people in our community through the work they do for the nonprofits we serve. Based on the Independent Sector's value of one volunteer hour (currently $25.43) the seniors have donated $235,701 of service to other Jacksonville nonprofit organizations. *Note: Our cash expenses were $197,302 meaning the Seniors' ROI is 119%

In the past 15 years, the seniors have donated more in service than the cash cost of our program. Since 2005, 1750+ senior adults have donated 2,765,000 of excellent service to our 110 collaborating nonprofit organizations. In 2019 Seniors on a Mission had $84,000 of in-kind donations that enabled the ministry to accomplish all that it does for so little money. While we're required to share with you the dollar value of all that we do, nothing compares with the life changes we see in senior citizens as they feel valued, encouraged, loved, and needed. Our ministry is about the seniors! The service they give back to the community is an added societal bonus.

The Board of Directors completed a stategic plan that had three main goals. Sustain Jacksonville ministry, replicate to other cities, and change the vernacular and the housing options for purpose-driven senior adults. At the time of completing this 990, Seniors on a Mission was in the throes of dealing with Covid-19 pandemic, which caused the organization to restructure the strategic plan for the next 2 to 5 years. The new strategic plan includes a mobile unit which would allow Seniors on a Mission to interact directly with seniors in their immediate neighborhood, while maintaining CDC guidelines for social distancing with vulnerable seniors.
