TO PUT CHRISTIAN PRINCIPLES INTO PRACTICE THROUGH PROGRAMS THAT BUILD HEALTHY SPIRIT, MIND AND BODY FOR ALL. OUR STRATEGIC PLAN SERVES AS A SIGNIFICANT GUIDE FOR OUR DECISION-MAKING, PROVIDING THE FOUNDATION FOR EXCEPTIONAL PROGRESS. FOR YOUTH DEVELOPMENT: WE BELIEVE THE VALUES AND SKILLS LEARNED EARLY ON ARE VITAL BUILDING BLOCKS FOR LIFE. BECAUSE OF THE Y, MORE YOUNG PEOPLE IN NEIGHBORHOODS AROUND THE NATION ARE TAKING A GREATER INTEREST IN LEARNING AND MAKING SMARTER LIFE CHOICES. AT THE Y, CHILDREN AND TEENS LEARN VALUES AND POSITIVE BEHAVIORS AND CAN EXPLORE THEIR UNIQUE TALENTS AND INTERESTS, HELPING THEM REALIZE THEIR POTENTIAL. THAT MAKES FOR CONFIDENT KIDS TODAY AND CONTRIBUTING AND ENGAGED ADULTS TOMORROW.IN 2019, WE SERVED 25,644 INDIVIDUALS. WE PROVIDED $317,120 IN FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO 1,413 PARTICIPANTS IN YMCA PROGRAMS FOR YOUTH DEVELOPMENT. THESE PROGRAMS ARE GROUPED INTO FOUR CATEGORIES: CHILD CARE; EDUCATION & LEADERSHIP; SWIM, SPORTS & PLAY; AND CAMP.REINFORCE OUR COMMITMENT TO OUR CAUSE: STRENGTHENING THE FOUNDATIONS OF COMMUNITY.
FOR HEALTHY LIVING: BEING HEALTHY MEANS MORE THAN SIMPLY BEING PHYSICALLY ACTIVE. IT IS ABOUT MAINTAINING A BALANCED SPIRIT, MIND AND BODY. THE Y IS A PLACE WHERE YOU CAN WORK TOWARD THAT BALANCE BY CHALLENGING YOURSELF TO LEARN A NEW SKILL OR HOBBY, FOSTERING CONNECTIONS WITH FRIENDS THROUGH OUR LIFELONG LEARNING PROGRAMS, OR BRINGING YOUR LOVED ONES CLOSER TOGETHER THROUGH OUR MANY FAMILY-CENTERED ACTIVITIES. AT THE Y, IT'S NOT ABOUT THE ACTIVITY YOU CHOOSE AS MUCH AS IT IS ABOUT THE BENEFITS OF LIVING HEALTHIER ON THE INSIDE AS WELL AS THE OUTSIDE. IN 2019, WE PROVIDED $2,005,606 IN FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO FAMILIES PARTICIPATING IN YMCA PROGRAMS FOR HEALTHY LIVING. THESE PROGRAMS ARE GROUPED INTO FOUR CATEGORIES: FAMILY TIME; HEALTH; WELL-BEING & FITNESS; SPORTS & RECREATION; AND GROUP INTERESTS.FAMILY TIME: SERVING FAMILIES HAS ALWAYS BEEN AT THE HEART OF THE Y. WE ARE A PLACE WHERE FAMILIES REINFORCE OUR COMMITMENT TO OUR CAUSE: STRENGTHENING THE FOUNDATIONS OF COMMUNITY.
FOR SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY - THE GENEROSITY OF OTHERS IS AT THE CORE OF THE Y'S EXISTENCE AS A NONPROFIT. IT IS ONLY THROUGH THE SUPPORT OF HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF VOLUNTEERS NATIONWIDE AND PUBLIC AND PRIVATE DONORS THAT WE ARE ABLE TO SUPPORT AND GIVE BACK TO THE COMMUNITIES WE ENGAGE. TO BRING ABOUT MEANINGFUL CHANGE, INDIVIDUALS NEED ONGOING ENCOURAGEMENT AND TOOLS. WE ARE HERE DAY-IN AND DAY-OUT TO PROVIDE THE RESOURCES OUR COMMUNITIES NEED TO ADDRESS THE MOST PRESSING SOCIAL ISSUES. WE WORK TO MAKE SURE EVERY CHILD, FAMILY AND COMMUNITY HAS WHAT THEY NEED TO ACHIEVE THEIR BEST. IN 2019, WE PROVIDED $16,326 IN FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO FAMILIES PARTICIPATING IN YMCA PROGRAMS FOR SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY. THESE PROGRAMS ARE GROUPED INTO FOUR CATEGORIES: SOCIAL SERVICES; GLOBAL SERVICES; VOLUNTEERISM & GIVING; AND ADVOCACY. THROUGH THE Y, HUNDREDS OF VOLUNTEERS ON THE FIRST COAST, AND MORE THAN 500,000 ACROSS THE NATION, ALONG WITH DONORS, LEADERS AND PARTNERS ARE EMPOWERING MILLIONS OF PEOPLE, AND THE COMMUNITIES IN WHICH THEY LIVE TO BE REINFORCE OUR COMMITMENT TO OUR CAUSE: STRENGTHENING THE FOUNDATIONS OF COMMUNITY.
