The Cultural Council for Palm Beach County is the official support agency for arts and culture in Palm Beach County, Florida. As such, it provides grants to cultural organizations and creative professionals, advocates for arts and cultural funding, enhances local arts education, offers support services to foster growth in the cultural sector, and promotes cultural tourism. Funds for its grant programs and tourism marketing are largely derived from the county's bed tax, which the Council has managed for nearly 40 years. The Council's other programs and services are supported by private funds derived from donations and membership. (Continued on Schedule O)(Continued from page 2, part III, line 4a) The Council's headquarters in Lake Worth Beach serves as a venue for gallery exhibitions and performances by artists who live or work in Palm Beach County, and includes a VISIT FLORIDA - designated Florida Certified Tourism Information Center and gift store with hand-crafted items by local artists. The Council is an active member of the South Florida Cultural Consortium and Florida Cultural Alliance.
