THE MISSION IS TO PROVIDE THERAPY DOGS FOR VISITATION AS THERAPEUTIC TOOLS IN MEDICAL, EDUCATIONAL AND SOCIAL SETTINGS THROUGHOUT THE SOUTH FLORIDA
PET THERAPY PROGRAM CONSISTS OF ANIMAL ASSISTED ACTIVITIES, ANIMAL ASSISTED THERAPY, ANIMAL ASSISTED CRISIS RESPONSE AND CHILDREN READING TO DOGS. THERAPY DOGS OF SOUTH FLORIDA IS A PROGRAM CONSISTING OF NINE THERAPY DOGS WHO PROVIDE EMOTIONAL SUPPORT, MOTIVATION, EDUCATION, AND/OR THERAPEUTIC BENEFITS TO ENHANCE THE QUALITY OF A PATIENT'S OR STUDENT'S LIFE. THE CHILDREN READING TO DOGS PROGRAM. HELP STUDENTS THAT ARE BEHIND, INCLUDING SPECIAL NEEDS STUDENTS IMPROVE HIGHER FLUENCY, COMPREHENSION READING LEVELS AND IMPROVE SOCIAL SKILLS. 2019 VISITATIONS AMOUNT TO 11,968 DOCUMENTED VISITATIONS THROUGHOUT THE SOUTH FLORIDA COMMUNITY. THEY ARE TRAINED AND CERTIFIED AS THERAPY DOGS WHO WILL PROVIDE EMOTIONAL RESCUE, RECOVERY AND ONGOING SUPPORT TO INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE BEEN AFFECTED BY CRISIS AND DISASTER.
