THE PEER SUPPORT COALITION OF FLORIDA'S MISSION IS TO ADVANCE PEER SUPPORT IN FLORIDA. WE STRIVE TO PROVIDE ACCESS TO RESOURCES THAT WILL ENCOURAGE PEERS (THOSE IN RECOVERY FROM A MENTAL HEALTH AND/OR SUBSTANCE USE CONDITION) TO GROW AND LEAD ACROSS THE STATE OF FLORIDA. WE PROVIDE AND COORDINATE MENTAL HEALTH AND SUBSTANCE USE RELATED TRAINING AND EDUCATION TO PEERS AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS OF FLORIDA, WORKING TOGETHER TO ADVANCE PEER WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT, INTEGRATE PEER AND RECOVERY-ORIENTED SERVICES, AND COLLABORATE FOR SOCIAL AND SYSTEM TRANSFORMATION.
UNDER THE MAGELLAN COMPLETE CARE (MCC) CONTRACT, PEER SUPPORT COALITION OF FLORIDA (PSCFL) DEVELOPED CERTIFIED RECOVERY PEER SPECIALISTS (CRPS) ACROSS THE STATE OF FLORIDA IN THE AREAS OF WELLNESS RECOVERY ACTION PLAN (WRAP), INTERNATIONAL PEER SUPPORT (IPS), PEER SUPPORT WHOLE HEALTH RESILIENCY, HEARING VOICES, RECOVERY ORIENTED SYSTEMS OF CARE (ROSC) AND OTHER RELEVANT PEER RECOVERY AND WELLNESS AREAS. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO IMPLEMENTED AND MANAGED A PEER MENTORSHIP PROGRAM THAT WAS DESIGNED TO PAIR EXPERIENCED CRPS'S WITH ASPIRING PEER SPECIALISTS TO PROVIDE SUPPORT AND DEVELOPMENT OF REQUIRED SKILLS. TRAINING AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED TO THE MENTORS ALONG WITH GENERAL OVERSIGHT OF THE PROGRAM. ADDITIONALLY, THE ORGANIZATION ALSO PROVIDED TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE THROUGH MONTHLY WEBINARS ON VARIOUS TOPICS INCLUDING LOCAL PEER NETWORK DEVELOPMENT, CRPS CERTIFICATION, AND OTHER RELEVANT AREAS. LASTLY, THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDED OVERSIGHT AND DISBURSEMENT OF STIPEND PAYMENTS TO LOCAL PEER SUPPORT NETWORK GROUPS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT AND SUSTAINMENT OF THESE GROUPS IN FLORIDA, AND ALSO TO FACILITATORS WHO ORGANIZED PSWHR GROUPS IN THEIR LOCAL COMMUNITIES.
UNDER THE DEPARTMENT OF CHILDREN AND FAMILIES (DCF) CONTRACT (CONTRACT NO. LD988), PEER SUPPORT COALITION OF FLORIDA (PSCFL) PROVIDED ONE (1) 1-DAY QUALITY ASSURANCE (QA) SITE VISIT WORKSHOP FOR MANAGING ENTITY (ME) AND REGIONAL DEPARTMENT RECOVERY-ORIENTED SYSTEM OF CARE (ROSC) REPRESENTATIVES TO DEVELOP A STANDARDIZED PROCESS FOR CONDUCTING QA SITE VISITS TO AGENCIES WHICH PROVIDE MAT SERVICES. IN SUPPORT OF THE STATE OF FLORIDA'S SYSTEM OF CARE TRANSFORMATION EFFORT, THE ORGANIZATION ALSO COORDINATED AND PARTICIPATED IN ONE (1) 2-DAY QA SITE VISIT AND IN SIX (6) 3-DAY QA SITE VISITS ACROSS THE STATE IN EACH OF THE DCF ME REGIONS. IN COLLABORATION WITH ME AND REGIONAL DEPARTMENT ROSC REPRESENTATIVES, THE ORGANIZATION PREPARED SEVEN (7) SUMMARY REPORTS OF EACH QA SITE VISIT WITH RECOMMENDATIONS FOR STRATEGIC PLAN DEVELOPMENT FOR IMPROVEMENT. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO PROVIDED TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO THE ME AND REGIONAL DEPARTMENT ROSC REPRESENTATIVES IN THE COORDINATION AND PREPARATION OF QA SITE VISITS AND IMPLEMENTATION OF QA SITE VISIT STRATEGIC PLANS.
