The Marco Island Historical Society, Inc., is organized for the purpose of preserving and sharing the history and heritage of Marco Island and the surrounding community.
The Organization is working on research, acquisition and preservation of the multi-faceted history of the Marco Island-Goodland region in Southwest Florida,through the use of a curator and collection manager and through the curation of relevant artifact loans from museums and organizations. Collections are shared with the public through the design and implementation of informative museum exhibits - both permanent and temporary.

The Organization manages the operations of Rose History Auditorium as a venue for these events and makes the auditorium available to the community for a modest rental fee. Revenue received is designed to cover the costs of the auditorium.
The organization operates the museum store providing items such as books, which inform about the history of Marco Island, jewelry, and other items.
