See Part III, ln 4a statement * * * * * * * * * Teens Are Lifelong Learners (TALL) - (YEN Program) AYUDA, in collaboration with The Children' s Trust, Miami Beach Senior High School, Scott Rakow Youth Center, Normandy Isle Park and Pool, has developed a program called Teens Are Lifelong Learners (TALL). This program is aimed at youth from grades 6th through 11th seeking to empower and educate them with life skills trainings. Community Service hours are available through this opportunity. TALL program is a youth enrichment program serving at risk middle and high school aged youth, including youth with disabilities. The goal of T.A.L.L. is to improve the lives of its participants through life/social skills training, academic support, service learning, Job training, Art (Dance), and Entrepreneurship so that the youth of Miami Beach may lead successful self- sufficient lives in the future. T.A.L.L. uses the "Positive Action" curriculum, an evidence-based program that guides youths into making the connection between thoughts, actions, ai1d feelings through dynamic and interactive activities that encourage them to use critical thinking and problem-solving skills. This program consists of Social-emotional learning, Academic support, Civic engagement, Job training, Entrepreneurship and Ai1s. The school year program runs on Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:30pm-4:30pm in Miami Beach Senior High School for high school students and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30pm-5:30pm for middle school youth in Normandy Isle Pool and Park as well as Scott Rakow Youth Center. 90 Youth impacted in 2019 and their family members (total 270 clients), at least 20% with disabilities. After-school Programs and Summer Camps (YAS Program) The AYUDA ASP & Summer Enrichment Program pai1ners with Happy Kids Childcare, Inc. to provide afterschool & summer programming. The program focuses on academic performance for all children including children with disabilities. Primary program focuses include group literacy and tutoring, with additional enrichment activities in the areas of STEM, social-emotional learning (Peace Program), and physical fitness, (SPARK, da11ce, yoga and karate). The program engages children Monday-Friday from 2 to 6pm during the school year and summer, including days when school is closed. The entirety of the program is inclusive of children with disabilities, staff is sensitive to their needs and will give them one-on-one attention through activity as needed. Referrals to community agencies and other programs will be made as needed. Cultural responsiveness will be primary in our program. Alignment with the diverse cultures of program pa11icipants will be evident via maps, books, world posters, multicultural arts & crafts, foods, dress, histo1y and diversity of languages. 45 children impacted in 2019, After School Program and their family members (90 clients), more than 10% with disabilities. "Here for You" Elderly Advocacy and Support Program This Elderly Services Program provides social services to adults 60 and older. The goals of the program are to assist elders in maintaining their independence in their community; improve their nutritional status; enhance their quality of life; provide them with support and security, and to provide their caregivers with assistance and relief so that they can continue to provide care. 40 elders impacted in 2019 and their family members (total 80 clients). Success University AYUDA has been a proud partner of the Success University program, a service partnership led by the City of Miami Beach, with over 20 community partners and collaborators, since its establishment in 2007. AYUDA was invited to participate at Success University, a program of the Miami Beach Service Partnership to impact youth and families. AYUDA, provides Care Coordination services, mental health counseling, and wrap around services to roughly 126 at-risk and needy families in the Miami Beach area. Care Coordination provides families with holistic, comprehensive services to ensure family stability and child success. Service components include: Family Assessments, Care Coordination, Family Team Conferencing, Employment, Individual Counseling, Functional Family Therapy, Tutoring as well as targeted referrals to community-based services not available with the Partnership. The Success University Program offers a variety of programming to reduce truancy and prepare our youth and families for success. The primary goal of the program is to address the root causes of excessive absences for om middle and high school students, while providing support for families that are experiencing the negative influences of community stress factors. 80 youth impacted in 2019 and their family members (total 160 clients). Early Educational Scholarships: Early Childhood, Infant thru 5-year of age. Green Center; A.P.P.L.E. Accredited, Small Group Instruction: Inclusion and Art Based Programs; Bachelor and Master Level Teachers. This Program allows children who might not be able to experience the education they deserve in a safe and nurturing environment. Free breakfast, lunch and snacks are provided. Early stimulation for infants and toddler, progressive pre-school instruction, early technology education and development al screenings and inclusion program for special needs children are offered thought a partnership with Happy Kids Learning Center. It takes a village to raise a child". 234 children impacted in 2019 and their family members (total 468 clients). Happy Kids Private School (STEP UP program): AYUDA created its Private School (Kindergarten - 3rd Grade) after detecting that its low-income client population (young children) had a great need for small classes, individual attention, tutorial programs, enrichment activities and advanced learning. To achieve this goal, AYUDA applied and was certified by the Department of Education to receive various scholarships. 1) Florida Tax Credit Scholarship gives low -income students one learning option that is not available to them because of their financial circumstances. It allows them to consider whether a private school might be a better fit academically. Step Up awarded 30 scholarships to low income children, wo1th up to up to $6,519 per child for Kindergarten- 3rd grade. 2) The Gardiner Scholarship program is a unique program for children with special needs. The scholarship allows parents to personalize the education of their children by directing money toward a combination of programs and approved providers. 3) The McKay Scholarship Program for Students with Disabilities is a Florida school choice programs which allows parents to choose the best educational setting- public or private for their child. This scholarship provides students with severe special needs the opportunity to attend a participating school such as Happy Kids Private School. 30 children impacted in 2019 and their family members (total of 90 clients).
