Organizations Filed Purposes:
TO LEAD ELEMENTARY AND MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS TO SUPERIOR ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT, CULTIVATE THEIR TALENTS AND INTERESTS, AND FOSTER ADMIRABLE CHARACTER TRAITS TO BUILD STRONG FOUNDATIONS THAT EMPOWER THEIR SUCCESS TO-AND-THROUGH COLLEGE.
BEACON COLLEGE PREP ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CONTINUED TO BUILD ON ITS SUCCESSES FROM THE PREVIOUS YEAR. OVER 90% OF OUR TEACHERS RETURNED AND ENROLLMENT WAS MAINTAINED AT 418 STUDENTS. STUDENTS SHOWED MEANINGFUL ACADEMIC GAINS ON INTERNAL ASSESSMENTS FOR THE FIRST HALF OF THE YEAR. DEMAND IN THE LOCAL COMMUNITY REMAINED HIGH AND WE MAINTAINED A WAITLIST OF OVER 100 STUDENTS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. ALL CONSTRUCTION AND CAMPUS IMPROVEMENTS WERE COMPLETED ON-TIME AND UNDER BUDGET. THE SCHOOL WAS FORCED TO SUSPEND IN- PERSON LEARNING IN MARCH DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC BUT WAS ABLE TO PIVOT SUCCESSFULLY TO ONLINE LEARNING FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE SCHOOL YEAR. A FEDERAL PAYCHECK PROTECTION PROGRAM (PPP) LOAN WAS APPLIED FOR AND RECEIVED, AND THIS ENABLED THE SCHOOL TO RETAIN ALL EMPLOYEES AND PROVIDED ENOUGH CASH FLOW TO COVER DEBT SERVICE AND OPERATIONS THROUGH THE SUMMER. BEACON COLLEGE PREP MIDDLE SCHOOL ENTERED ITS SECOND YEAR OF OPERATIONS WITH AN INCREASED ENROLLMENT OF 207 STUDENTS IN GRADES SIX THROUGH EIGHT. GRADES 6 AND 7 WERE COMPRISED MOSTLY OF BCP ELEMENTARY GRADUATES AND THIS MADE A SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCE WITH RESPECT TO SCHOOL CULTURE AND ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENTS OF STUDENTS. DEMAND IN THE LOCAL COMMUNITY REMAINED HIGH AND THE MIDDLE SCHOOL MAINTAINED A WAITLIST OF OVER 80 STUDENTS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.
