THEY ALSO COORDINATE SERVICES WITH THE KRISTI HOUSE CHILD ADVOCACY CENTER PARTNER AGENCIES TO ENSURE THE ABUSE IS STOPPED, PERPETRATORS ARE HELD RESPONSIBLE, SERVICES ARE RECEIVED AND LONG-TERM RECOVERY IS ASSURED. 1,074 CHILDREN RECEIVED CASE COORDINATION SERVICES IN THE FY.
THERAPY: THERAPY IS A CRITICAL COMPONENT FOR ENABLING CHILDREN TO OVERCOME THE TRAUMA OF ABUSE. KRISTI HOUSE USES EVIDENCE-BASED THERAPEUTIC INTERVENTIONS THAT HAVE BEEN PROVEN EFFECTIVE, AND IS ONE OF A VERY FEW ORGANIZATIONS IN MIAMI-DADE COUNTY THAT PROVIDE SERVICES 100% FREE OF CHARGE TO CLIENTS. THERAPY CAN THWART SEVERE SOCIAL, EMOTIONAL AND PHYSICAL PROBLEMS THAT MANIFEST THEMSELVES INTO ADULTHOOD IF LEFT UNTREATED. 1,012 CHILDREN RECEIVED THERAPY SERVICES IN THE FY.
PROJECT GOLD, PROGRAM FOR COMMERCIALLY SEXUALLY EXPLOITED CHILDREN (CSEC). THIS PROGRAM SERVES GIRLS AGES 12 AND UP WHO HAVE BEEN EXPLOITED THROUGH SEX TRAFFICKING. THE PROGRAM PROVIDES WRAP-AROUND SERVICES, INCLUDING THERAPY, CASE MANAGEMENT, ENRICHMENT AND LIFE SKILLS PROGRAMS, AND EDUCATION SUPPORT AND CAREER PREP FOR GIRLS AT A DROP-IN CENTER DEDICATED TO THIS POPULATION. 78 CHILDREN RECEIVED PROJECT GOLD SERVICES IN THE FY.
