Organizations Filed Purposes:
The purpose of the Overtown Children and Youth Coalition, Inc. is to serve as the anchor organization for the improvement of lives of children and youth in the Overtown area of Miami.
Continued Master Plan Implementation of various targeted activities funded by Alleganey Franciscian Ministries, including Youth Commission, Professional Development and the establishiment of unique partnership with community organizations and unversities. In 2019, OCYC held its 2nd Annual "Work Readiness Fair" attended by 100+ youth and participated in youth internship employment opportunities in the Miami Area
1) Continued implementation of State of Florida Ounce of Prevention Program through Subrgrants that delivered services through five community organizations and more than 60 youth and children: 2) Implementation of State of Florida Project EASE providing tutoring to more than 75 youth and children at risk: and 3) Provided Early Childhood assistance to 30 amilies in Overtown
Implementation of The Children Trust of Miami-Dade County Grant by debveloping the initial stages of a "Capacity Building Plan" for the improvement of small organizations.
