TO SUPPORT, EDUCATE AND EMPOWER SOUTH FLORIDA'S LESBIAN, GAY, BISEXUAL, TRANSGENDER AND QUESTIONING (LGBTQ) YOUTH AND THE COMMUNITY AT LARGE IN SAFE AND DIVERSE ENVIRONMENTS THROUGH AFFIRMING.
YOUTH ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS (AGES 14-20): DROP-IN CENTER SAFE SPACE, NIGHTLY DISCUSSION AND SUPPORT GROUPS AND SUPPORT GROUPS AT SATELLITE LOCATIONS (RAINBOW CIRCLE AND BEYOND THE BINARY AND YOUTH LEADERSHIP COUNCIL), YOUTH ENRICHMENT AND OFFSITE AND ONSITE CULTURAL PROGRAM ACTIVITIES (QUEER ARTS, PROM, CAMPOUT AND THE ANNUAL PRIDE PARADE) MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES, PSYCHOSOCIAL SUPPORT SERVICES, AND REFERRALS TO LGBTQ AFFIRMING SERVICE PROVIDERS. INTENDED OUTCOMES: -PROVIDE SAFE AND SUPPORTIVE SPACES FOR LGBTQ YOUTH TO LEARN AND GROW, WITH THE GOALS OF IMPROVING SELF-ESTEEM, INCREASING COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT, AND IMPROVING THE OVERALL HEALTH AND WELLNESS OF LGBTQ YOUTH. PROJECT SAFE: SERVICES FOR YOUTH (AGES 18-24) EXPERIENCING HOMELESSNESS (INCLUDING YOUTH WHO ARE LIVING WITH HIV) THROUGH PRIDELINES' PROJECT SAFE PROGRAM INCLUDE DROP-IN CENTER SPACE FOR RESPITE, SHOWERS AND LAUNDRY FACILITIES AVAILABLE ON-SITE, FREE CLOTHING AND TOILETRIES, WARM MEALS, TRANSPORTATION, CRISIS INTERVENTION, ONGOING CARE COORDINATION, EMERGENCY HOUSING, SHELTER PLACEMENT AND HOUSING ASSISTANCE, ON-SITE MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES, PSYCHOSOCIAL SUPPORT SERVICES, EDUCATION AND EMPLOYMENT SUPPORT, AND REFERRALS TO OTHER LGBTQ AFFIRMING HEALTH AND SERVICE PROVIDERS. INTENDED OUTCOMES: -PROVIDE CRITICAL SAFETY NET SERVICES AND IMPROVE THE PHYSICAL, EMOTIONAL, AND ECONOMIC HEALTH AND WELLNESS OF LGBTQ YOUTH EXPERIENCING HOMELESSNESS.SEXUAL HEALTH SERVICES: HIV/STI COUNSELING, TESTING AND LINKAGE TO CARE, INCLUDING TESTING AT LOCAL SCHOOLS/COLLEGES, COMMUNITY EVENTS, COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS AND VENUES SUCH AS BARS AND CLUBS. HIV PREVENTION AND STIGMA-REDUCTION SERVICES AND ACTIVITIES INCLUDE IMPLEMENTING THE MPOWERMENT INTERVENTION WITH YOUNG GAY AND BISEXUAL MEN (CIS- AND TRANSGENDER MEN) IN THE BALLROOM SCENE, ON COLLEGE CAMPUSES AND IN HIGH SCHOOLS, DEVELOPING A PREP INITIATIVE FOR YOUNG GAY AND BISEXUAL MEN OF COLOR AND TRANSGENDER PEOPLE, AND EXPANDING THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE TESTED EACH MONTH. INTENDED OUTCOMES: -IMPROVE ACCESS TO LGBT-COMPETENT HIV/STI TESTING, REDUCE HIV-RELATED STIGMA AND NUMBER OF NEW INFECTIONS, BUILD A SENSE OF COMMUNITY TO FOSTER A SHARED SENSE OF SUPPORT FOR SEXUAL HEALTH, INCREASE KNOWLEDGE OF HIV/STI STATUS AND LINK THOSE WITH POSITIVE HIV OR STI STATUS TO TREATMENT, EDUCATION AND SUPPORT SERVICES HALO (HOLISTIC ADVOCACY FOR LEADERSHIP AND OPPORTUNITIES) ENCOMPASSES SUPPORT FOR PLWH, INCLUDING:HEALTH ENHANCEMENT SERVICES FOCUSED ON SOLIDLY LINKING PEOPLE LIVING WITH HIV TO CARE WHETHER THEY ARE NEWLY DIAGNOSED OR HAVE BECOME DISCONNECTED FROM CARE. OUR HEALTH ENHANCEMENT MANAGERS ENCOURAGE THE PEOPLE THEY SERVE TO IDENTIFY BARRIERS TO CARE AND THEN DEVELOP A PLAN FOR REMOVING THOSE BARRIERS THAT IS BASED ON THE INDIVIDUAL'S OWN STRENGTHS AND THEIR PERSONAL LIFE GOALS. HEALTH ENHANCEMENT SERVICES ARE AVAILABLE TO ALL PLWH WITH A SPECIAL FOCUS ON YOUNG MEN WHO HAVE SEX WITH MEN OF COLOR AND TRANSGENDER PEOPLE OF COLOR. INTENDED OUTCOMES: -LINK PLWH TO CARE AND EMPOWER THEM TO WORK TOWARDS HOLISTIC HEALTH AND VIRAL SUPPRESSION. -PROVIDE LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT, ADVOCACY, AND PEER COUNSELING TRAINING FOR PLWH.-REDUCE HIV-RELATED STIGMA, IMPROVE HEALTH AND WELLNESS OF PLWH, INCREASE THE PROPORTION OF PLWH THAT ACHIEVE VIRAL SUPPRESSION, AND REDUCE HEALTH DISPARITIES AMONG MARGINALIZED POPULATIONS. SUPPORT SERVICES FOR PLWH INCLUDING: SOCIAL SUPPORT GROUPS FOR GAY/BI MEN, WOMEN AND SPANISH-SPEAKERS, INDIVIDUAL PEER COUNSELING (PEER NAVIGATION), MONTHLY LUNCH/DINNER LECTURES FOR PLWH AND THEIR CAREGIVERS, AND ON-SITE HOLISTIC THERAPIES INCLUDING MASSAGE, ACUPUNCTURE, REIKI, STRESS REDUCTION MEDITATION, HYPNOTHERAPY, MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELING, YOGA, AND CRYSTAL BOWL SOUND THERAPY FOR PLWH. SOCIAL ACTIVITIES INCLUDE: SPORTING EVENTS, BALLET, SYMPHONY, MOVIES AND OTHER SOCIAL OUTINGS. INTENDED OUTCOMES: REDUCE HIV-RELATED STIGMA, IMPROVE HEALTH AND WELLNESS OF PLWH, INCREASE THE PROPORTION OF PLWH THAT ACHIEVE VIRAL SUPPRESSION, AND REDUCE HEALTH DISPARITIES AMONG MARGINALIZED POPULATIONS. COMMUNITY CENTER: IN ADDITION TO HOUSING OUR YOUTH PROGRAMS AND HEALTH SERVICES, OUR CENTER IS A GATHERING SPACE FOR MIAMI'S LGBTQ COMMUNITY. CENTER EVENTS INCLUDE A MONTHLY LGBTQ BOOK CLUB, DRAG BINGO, LATIN DANCE CLASSES, YOGA, CRYSTAL METH ANONYMOUS SUPPORT GROUP, COMMUNITY APPRECIATION BARBEQUES AND HOLIDAY DINNERS, A MONTHLY BI/PANSEXUAL MEET UP GROUP, AND VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES. WE ALSO PROVIDE MEETING AND EVENT SPACE FOR OTHER LGBTQ AND SOCIAL JUSTICE ORGANIZATIONS.
