To work for the education and betterment of agriculture in Escambia County.
Escambia County Farm Bureau sponsors the GCA/NRYO Livestock Show. Students have the opportunity to show off their animal science skills gleaned from their projects. Students learn life skills as well as teamwork, responsibility, work ethics, time management and business skills.
We strongly support the Northview High School FFA's Fresh from Florida program. This program's purpose is to educate students on the importance of agriculture in our county and encourage FFA members to participate in agricultural literacy and awareness projects on the local level. Student received the opportunity to learn about agriculture firsthand as they got up close and personal with farm animals, farm equipment, and more. This program has been nationally recongized by the National FFA.
Escambia County Farm Bureau participated in a peanut butter drive with surrounding counties. Collectively they donated thousands of jars of peanut butter to food pantries in the panhandle. This program helps agriculture by highlighting peanuts, one of our major commodities, and improving community relations. The Peanut Butter Challenge not only raises awareness about the important contribution of north Florida's peanut growers to the state peanut industry, but also helps provide a healthy, locally produced product to food insecure families in Northwest Florida.
