To improve the quality of life for the Haitian people, particularly children.
Healthcare & Water: Access to primary medical services and clean water is vital for any community to survive and develop. We impacted the lives of an estimated 300,000 individuals through the distribution of about $18 million dollars' worth of gift in kind medicines & supplies, provided public health training, education and outreach, and by operating our Infirmary St. Etienne, which provided over 16,843 consultations through primary care consultations, dental and laboratory services, and critical referrals for emergency and surgical treatment. We provided about 2,765 consultations through our mobile clinics.We distributed over 7,000 portable filtration systems at the household level and school level providing families the ability to filter clean water for the next ten years.
Infrastructure & Economy: We believe that equipping the Haitian people for independent, long term success lies in the ability to foster economic activity, raising the income of households and their trajectory out of abject poverty. FY20, we continued construction on a nine block classroom. Hope for Haiti created 1,500 emergency kits in preparation for any upcoming emergencies.We envisioned and implemented a social business finance program, positioning ourselves to continue effectively accelerating social business entrepreneurs within our circle of program impact. In FY20, we invested $100,576 in grants and $16,846.46 loans in Haitian businesses and entrepreneurs.
Education: We believe that educating Haiti's youth is the critical component to its long term sustainability and ability to thrive. We provided effective support to 24 partner schools, resourcing 465 primary and secondary teachers through direct salary subsidies, empowering them to educate 6,524 students. We disbursed about $26,000 to schools for the acquisition of educational materials, books, and related classroom supplies.
