Organizations Filed Purposes:
Promotion and development of amateur golf including national and international golf competitions
During 2019, the Amateur Golf Alliance provided a total of $60,000 to nonprofit state level golf associations for use in providing financial support to assist skilled amateur golfers in competing in amateur golf competitions. These contributions were made to 12 different nonprofit state golf associations to provide financial assistance to 20 different amateurs seeking to qualify for the Walker Cup competition sponsored by the United States Golf Association and were made in accordance with applicable amateur status rules of the United States Golf Association. The Amateur Golf Alliance has also supported the Concession Cup international competition events which have been conducted in the United States in 2014, 2016 and 2018. The Concession Cup is an international competition between teams from the United States and Great Britain-Ireland. The success of the Concession Cup has validated the intended purpose of the Amateur Golf Alliance to preserve and enhance amateur golf and amateur golf competitions, both nationally and internationally, with the potential to support other charitable activities. The next Concession Cup is tentatively planned for November, 2021 in Europe. The Concession Cup events were not conducted through a prior legal entity or organization. Instead, the Concession Cup events were organized and conducted by a group of individuals interested in promoting international amateur golf competition. As such, there was no previous corporation, partnership or other legal entity which organized and sponsored the Concession Cup events. Amateur Golf Alliance has not received any assets remaining from the Concession Cup events and has not assumed any liabilities resulting from the Concession Cup events. Amateur Golf Alliance has not succeeded to or assumed any contractual obligations associated with the Concession Cup events. Accordingly, the Amateur Golf Alliance is not a successor to a prior organization.
The AGA sponsored and provided services necessary to organize and conduct to a new women's mid-amateur competition and other amateur competitions.
