TO PROVIDE VARIOUS COMPREHENSIVE SUBSTANCE ABUSE REHABILITATION (I.E. TREATMENT) AND PREVENTION PROGRAMS AND RELATED RESEARCH PROGRAMS.
THE CENTER OPERATES VARIOUS COMPREHENSIVE RESIDENTIAL PROGRAMS WHICH PROVIDE INTENSIVE, STRUCTURED TREATMENT TO CHEMICALLY DEPENDENT MALE AND FEMALE ADULTS AND ADOLESCENTS WITH AN AVERAGE LENGTH OF STAY OF APPROXIMATELY 5 1/2 MONTHS. BY BEING IN A SAFE, DRUG-FREE ENVIRONMENT RESIDENTS HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO ACQUIRE THE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND BEHAVIORS NECESSARY TO LIVE A SUBSTANCE FREE LIFESTYLE. THERAPEUTIC SERVICES PROVIDED INCLUDE INDIVIDUAL, GROUP, AND FAMILY AND/OR SIGNIFICANT OTHER. RELAPSE PREVENTION AND LIFE SKILLS TRAINING ARE EMPHASIZED; APPROXIMATELY 617 CLIENTS PARTICIPATED IN THESE RESIDENTIAL PROGRAMS.
THE CENTER OPERATES AN INPATIENT DETOXIFICATION PROGRAM WHICH PROVIDES SHORT-TERM (AVERAGE LENGTH OF STAY OF APPROXIMATELY 3 TO 10 DAYS) INTENSIVE DETOXIFICATION SERVICES FOR PERSONS ADDICTED TO NARCOTICS, OTHER OPIATES, ALCOHOL, AND/OR COCAINE. BEHAVIORAL HEALTHCARE IS PROVIDED BY MASTER LEVEL, LICENSED OR LICENSED ELIGIBLE COUNSELING STAFF. MEDICAL AND PSYCHIATRIC NURSE PRACTITIONERS ARE AVAILABLE TO MEET THE INITIAL AND ONGOING NEEDS OF THESE CLIENTS; APPROXIMATELY 2,167 CLIENTS PARTICIPATED IN THIS TREATMENT PROGRAM.
THE CENTER OFFERS OUTPATIENT SERVICES IN A VARIETY OF LOCATIONS. EACH LOCATION PROVIDES UNIQUE SERVICES DESIGNED TO HELP PERSONS WITH SUBSTANCE ABUSE ISSUES THAT AFFECT THEIR ABILITY TO LEAD SAFE AND HEALTHY LIVES. GROUP AND INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING SESSIONS ARE PROVIDED FOR OUR OUTPATIENT CLIENTS. DRUG COURT CLIENTS ARE PROVIDED SIMILAR SERVICES UNDER COURT SUPERVISION. OUTPATIENT SERVICES MAY ALSO INCLUDE A MEDICAL COMPONENT WHERE MEDICATIONS ARE UTILIZED TO TREAT CLIENT ADDICTION ISSUES. THE OUTPATIENT PROGRAM INCLUDES SERVICES FOCUSING ON; SOCIAL SKILLS, ANGER MANAGEMENT, NUTRITION EDUCATION, MONEY MANAGEMENT, EMPLOYMENT SKILLS, PARENTING SKILLS, STRESS MANAGEMENT, PROBLEM SOLVING/DECISION MAKING, VALUES CLARIFICATION, GOAL SETTING, PHYSICAL/EMOTIONAL ABUSE, PRENATAL, AND GED/VOCATIONAL TRAINING. ASSISTANCE INCLUDES FORMAL REFERRALS TO OTHER COMMUNITY AGENCIES BASED ON INDIVIDUAL NEED. APPROXIMATELY 2,087 CLIENTS PARTICIPATED IN TREATMENT SERVICES THROUGH THE CENTER'S OUTPATIENT PROGRAMS.
