JACF FOUNDATION SUPPORTS JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT OF CENTRAL FLORIDA WHO IS COMMITTED TO IMPROVING THE LIVES OF STUDENTS, THEIR FAMILIES AND OUR COMMUNITY BY PROVIDING EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING FOCUSED ON FINANCIAL LITERACY, WORK READINESS AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP FOR STUDENTS IN ORANGE, OSCEOLA AND SEMINOLE COUNTIES MOSTLY IN TITLE I SCHOOLS. TITLE I SCHOOLS SERVE A HIGH PERCENTAGE OF STUDENTS FROM LOW-INCOME FAMILIES WHO ARE STRUGGLING TO MAKE ACADEMIC PROGRESS. STUDENTS ENROLLED IN THESE SCHOOLS ARE OFTEN HEAVILY MINORITY AND INCLUDE MIGRANT FAMILY STUDENTS, STUDENTS WITH LIMITED ENGLISH PROFICIENCY, HOMELESS STUDENTS, AND AT-RISK STUDENTS STRUGGLING WITH THE NEGATIVE EFFECTS OF POVERTY. JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT OF CENTRAL FLORIDA HAS SERVED MORE THAN 2,000,000 STUDENTS SINCE ITS INCEPTION AND, DURING THE 2019/2020 SCHOOL YEAR, JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT OF CENTRAL FLORIDA SERVED 24,000 CENTRAL FLORIDA STUDENTS INCLUDING:- ALMOST 9,600 GRADUATING SENIORS ENROLLED IN A 26-LESSON, "REAL LIFE" FINANCIAL SKILLS PROGRAM (IN PERSON AND VIRTUALLY). JACF WAS ABLE TO SUCCESSFULLY TRANSITION TO MEET VIRTUAL NEEDS OF OUR SCHOOL DISTRICTS DURING THE 4TH QUARTER, AND THIS NEW VIRTUAL PLATFORM WILL ENABLE US TO EXPAND OUR PROGRAM REACH TO MORE THAN 12,000 CENTRAL FLORIDA STUDENTS IN THE 2020/21 SCHOOL YEAR. JACF IS WORKING TO ENSURE THAT ALL STUDENTS CAN BENEFIT FROM THIS PROGRAM NO MATTER WHERE CLASSROOM IS LOCATED.- OVER 4,000 MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS PARTICIPATED IN AN INNOVATIVE, "HANDS ON" CAREER EXPLORATION EVENT.- MORE THAN 5,000 ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS WERE TAUGHT IN A CLASSROOM SETTING, WITH MANY ENGAGED IN LEARNING THE PRACTICAL STEPS TO STARTING A BUSINESS.THE JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT OF CENTRAL FLORIDA FOUNDATION SUPPORTS THESE EFFORTS BY RAISING AND MAINTAINING FUNDS FOR THE BENEFIT OF JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT OF CENTRAL FLORIDA.
