Organizations Filed Purposes:
THE NCAS IS AN EVER-GROWING ORGANIZATION OF COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES THAT USES THE POWER OF SPORT TO EFFECT POSITIVE SOCIAL CHANGE. THE ORGANIZATION EDUCATES AND EMPOWERS INDIVIDUALS AND ORGANIZATIONS BY INSPIRING VALUES-BASED THINKING LEADING TO ACTIONS THAT PROMOTE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY AND EQUALITY.
THE MISSION OF NCAS IS TO CREATE WORLDWIDE SOCIAL JUSTICE THROUGH THE POWER OF SPORT.
MENTORS IN VIOLENCE PREVENTION(MVP)IS A LEADERSHIP PROGRAM FOCUSED ON PREVENTING ALL FORMS OF MEN'S VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN. THE MULTI-RACIAL, MIXED GENDER PROGRAM IS THE FIRST LARGE ATTEMPT TO ENLIST HIGH SCHOOL, COLLEGIATE AND PROFESSIONAL ATHLETES IN THE FIGHT AGAINST THIS TYPE OF VIOLENCE.
TEAMWORK LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE(TLI) EXISTS TO HELP SENIOR ADMINISTRATORS AND ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT STAFFS, THROUGH THE PROVISION OF DIVERSITY TRAINING SERVICES, APPLY THE PRINCIPLES OF TEAMWORK TO ALL AREAS OF ATHLETIC DEPARTMENTS. TLI PROVIDES DIVERSITY TRAINING TO ORGANIZATIONS ACROSS THE UNITED STATES(SUCH AS NASCAR), FOCUSING PRIMARILY ON COLLEGE AND UNIVERSITY ADMINISTRATIONS AND ATHLETIC DEPARTMENTS, TLI FOSTERS A SAFE ENVIRONMENT FOR PARTICIPANTS TO DISCUSS ISSUES OF RACE, ETHNICITY AND GENDER. EACH MEMBER OF NCAS, EACH COLLEGE, AND UNIVERSITY IS OFFERED TLI SERVICES. INCLUDED IN THIS CATEGORY ARE EXPENSES FOR TWO ADDITIONAL PROGRAMS. THE FIRST IS "SHUT OUT TRAFFICKING" WHICH IS A PARTNERSHIP WITH UNICEF USA TO BRING AWARENESS ABOUT HUMAN TRAFFICKING. THE SECOND PROGRAM IS A TWO HOUR WORKSHOP WHICH EXPLORES ATHLETIC LEADERSHIP IN THE 21ST CENTURY.
ALL OTHER PROGRAMS - IN ADDITION TO THE OTHER TOP TWO PROGRAMS, NCAS ALSO OPERATES OTHER PROGRAMS INCLUDING, HOPE FOR STANLEY, DISNEY SPORTS GRADUATE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM, DEGREE COMPLETION PROGRAM, NATIONAL STUDENT ATHLETE DAY AND OTHER STUDENT-ATHLETE OUTREACH PROGRAMS.
