Florida Rush Soccer is a passionate group of individuals committed to developing players, coaches and referees and teaching life lessons through the game of soccer.
Florida Rush Soccer is a community based sports organization providing soccer programming for youth ages 4-19 to improve physical fitness, teach teamwork and develop character.
COMPETITIVE PROGRAMS are our largest program area and involve approximately 806 student-athletes consisting of 602 boys and 304 girls ages 9-19 years old. Competing in local, state and national leagues, plus tournaments, we have 68 teams committed to a 10-month season. Coaches practice with athletes 2-3x per week to develop well-rounded young people. Focusing on physical fitness, athletes learn to play with a high level of technical ability and tactical awareness. Competing in 40-45 games annually, players learn teamwork, appreciation for diversity, positive approaches to conflict resolution and sportsmanship. All interested players are welcomed. 110,618 of financial assistance was provided to 89 families to offset costs associated with participation.
DEVELOPMENTAL PROGRAMS are community based recreational soccer programs open to all including Developmental Soccer Leagues DSL, School of Excellence SOE and Mighty Mites MM. Serving SW Orange and Lake County, DSL programs involve approximately 540 boys and 275 girls ages 4-12 years old. Practicing weekly and playing games at our home facilities, we run 2 10-week seasons fall/spring focusing on FUN, physical fitness and teamwork. Our SOE programs provide after-school activities for 98 players to improve their skills while building character and self-confidence. Our MM program is an 8-week parent participation activity for 111 children ages 3-4 focused on developing motor skills. All interested players are welcomed. 11,700 of financial assistance was provided to 90 families to offset participation costs.
TOURNAMENT AND EVENTS encourage participation in external competitive events and the community. Florida Rush hosted two soccer tournaments with 350 teams of all ages included in competitive games. 60 volunteers contributed 900 hours of service. Local community partners and businesses benefited from more than 1 million in sports tourism economic impact. Our College ID Clinic brought 88 high school age athletes together in front of 18 college coaches and helped 22 players receive college scholarship funding. In partnership with Disney Sports, Florida Rush families contributed 3000 volunteer hours at 11 soccer tournaments staffing scoreboards which generated nearly 24,000 for financial assistance to families wishing to involve their children in soccer programs.
