Organizations Filed Purposes:
The Organization is dedicated to promoting fellowship, understanding, and respect among all religions and cultures; to bringing the community together through education, dialogue, and interaction; and to addressing issues rooted in intolerance, anti-semitism, and unjust discrimination.
The Fellowship held its 2020 Essay and Creative Arts Student Competition. The inspiration for the competition was the Edgar Guest poem, "It Couldn't Be Done." All public, private, charter, and home-schooled middle and high school students in Palm Beach County were eligible to submit entries in one of the following categories: essay, poem, video, music, and visual art (including painting, drawing, collage, sculpture, and photography).
The Fellowship sponsored eight Palm Beach County teachers to participate in a week-long Facing History and Ourselves "Holocaust and Human Behavior" seminar held in Memphis, Tennessee this past July. Two alums of the program attended the new "Beyond Borders" seminar in Boston in July to build upon the training they had previously received. The training received by the teachers will assist them in educating middle and high school students about Anti-Semitism, the Holocaust, genocide, racism, and bullying to make a difference in how children regard other people.
The Fellowship had an active season of program events, including 3 sessions of the popular series entitled "Sunday Conversations," featuring topics of interest presented by outstanding speakers, and 4 events entitled "Pizza and Pathways," a series designed to encourage participants to explore and discuss timely topics in an open, interactive setting, using award-winning films as a jumping off point. Such programs foster interaction among members of all backgrounds. The Fellowship also held a Welcome Back Reception in the beautiful gardens of The Society of the Four Arts Gardens in Palm Beach. Guests enjoyed catching up with each other after the summer break and meeting new friends. Approximately 120 guests attended this reception to hear about the exciting programs and events planned for the Fellowship's 27th anniversary season.
