Organizations Filed Purposes:
To make life better for the Haitians in Haiti with programs to improve their independence - never to increase dependency.
Food Program: Downsized food program to minimum amount of food, mostly being distributed to hungry street people by driving around to discourage begging.
Medical Clinic: The staff saw 1,417 burn patients with a total number of treatments of 4,222. There were 436 patients came in with cuts and that resulted in 1,271 patient treatments.
Construction: Pilgrim House #28 Wrote the grant request to Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Indianapolis, Indiana. They fully funded our request for $10,000. Pilgrim house was completed right on budget. At $10,000, only spent what they received. Another home for a homeless family on land they had inherited. Other Construction Projects: Included much needed repairs on the FHL headquarters that houses the clinic, warehouse for supplies for the clinic and rooms with bathrooms for volunteer teams coming to Haiti to work.
