THE SCHOLARSHIP AMOUNT IS 1,200 AND IS AWARDED TO THE NUMBER OF EDUCATORS APPROVED BY THE BOARD. THE EDUCATOR MUST SUBMIT AN APPLICATION TO THE BOARD. THE BOARD WILL DETERMINE THE ELIGIBILITY OF THE EDUCATOR BASED ON THE GUIDELINES. THE BOARD WILL ALSO DETERMINE THE NUMBER OF AWARDS TO DISTRIBUTE. IN THE EVENT THAT THERE ARE MORE ELIGIBLE EDUCATORS THAN THERE ARE SCHOLARSHIP FUNDS AVAILABLE, THE FOUNDATION BOARD WILL GIVE PREFERENCE TO EDUCATORS THAT HAVE NOT PREVIOUSLY RECEIVED SCHOLARSHIP FUNDS AND THEN PREFERENCE WILL BE BASED ON SENIORITY IN THE CHARTER SCHOOL SYSTEM. THE SCHOLARSHIPS ARE PAID TO THE UNIVERSITY OR COLLEGE WHERE THE EDUCATOR IS ENROLLED. THIS YEAR, 13 SCHOLARSHIPS WERE PAID OUT IN THE FISCAL YEAR 2019-20. FIVE WERE FOR 1,200 EACH FOR THE 2019-20 SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS AND THE OTHER EIGHT SCHOLARSHIPS WERE PRE- PAYMENT FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2020-21 SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS AT 1,200 EACH. 13 AWARDS TOTALING - 15,600.00 THE SECOND CATEGORY IS THE TEACHER-OF-THE-YEAR AND NON-INSTRUCTIONAL EMPLOYEE-OF-THE-YEAR AWARDED AT EACH CAMPUS. ALL TEACHERS AND NON- INSTRUCTIONAL EMPLOYEES QUALIFY FOR THIS AWARD. THE AWARD AMOUNT IS 500 FOR EACH STAFF MEMBER.
