Organizations Filed Purposes: South Florida Baptist Hospital Foundation, Inc. secures, manages and stewards philanthropic support to benefit the healthcare mission of South Florida Baptist Hospital.

South Florida Baptist Hospital has an obstetrics unit that delivers over 500 babies annually. It is important that our equipment in the Emergency Department and OB unit can adequately care for newborns. Therefore, the Foundation supported purchasing two Panda iRes Bedded Warmers. One for the ED and one for OB. The GE Panda iRes is a state-of-the-art infant warmer, that helps keep babies' bodies warm through temperature regulation. The innovative recessed heater in the Panda Warmer lets the nurse interact with the baby, while still allowing their body to maintain heat separate from you. Each warmer is $19,965 making the project cost $39,930.

Orthopedic and Podiatric Surgery are busy service lines at South Florida Baptist Hospital. To conduct these highly specialized surgeries the instruments and power equipment are extremely important to achieve the best outcomes. To support the program the Foundation purchased a Stryker TPS Reciprocating Saw. This state-of-the-art power equipment will support our growing surgery volume. Cordless, high powered, battery operated equipment that is light weight and easy to handle is particularly important features requested by surgeons. Three of our orthopedic surgeons have added hours to our schedule and advanced equipment is needed to support them. The equipment is used for total joint procedures, shoulder surgery, hand and foot fractures and many other types of cases. Power equipment is a foundational piece of necessary equipment for orthopedics. The cost of the Power Saw is $39,799.

In 2016 South Florida Baptist Hospital enlarged and opened a new ICU. The state-of-the-art unit improved so many of the services to ICU patients to support the most critically ill. In 2019 the Foundation supported the purchase of a Starling SV Noninvasive Cardiac Output & Hemodynamic Monitoring System for the ICU. This system offers the ability to monitor the Cardiac Output of patients through noninvasive technology. This allows for the nursing staff and physicians to have the most up to date data and be able to adjust treatments accordingly. This is a new opportunity for our ICU team to treat our patients more effectively. The cost of the unit is $37,150.
