Deluca -The target population is youth, ages 14-18, who reside in Pompano Beach and Deerfield Beach, which have high rates of unemployment and foreclosed homes, low homeownership, homelessness and high drug use and crime. These factors translate into extremely limited opportunities for teen employment and the development of job skills and increased risk for youth. Grow City youth increases employment opportunities and provides the chance for local youth to develop job skills.
CRA The Fruitfulfield provides community plots for individuals and families in the neighborhood with the shared herb and flower plots and fruit trees. Urban farm rows are focused on producing seasonal vegetables for distribution. Social community events focus on education at both sites in how to garden, how to plant trees, and general health through eating and cooking of fresh produce.
