TO BRING THE ARTS INTO THE LIFE OF THE COMMUNITY THROUGH ARTS EDUCATION, EXHIBITIONS, AND OUTREACH, AND BY HONORING A DONOR-DRIVEN PHILOSOPHY.
THE CULTURAL CENTER IS THE COMMUNITY'S ARTS AND CULTURAL CENTER, PROVIDING ONGOING, MULTI-DISCIPLINARY ARTS PROGRAMMING FOR MORE THAN 12,000 INDIVIDUALS ANNUALLY.PROGRAMMING INCLUDES: FIVE DIFFERENT 7-WEEK SESSIONS OF MULTIDISCIPLINARY ARTS CLASSES. NEARLY 200 ARTS AND CULTURAL CLASSES FOR CHILDREN (BEGINNING AT AGE 2) AND ADULTS ARE TAUGHT ANNUALLY BY APPROXIMATELY 75 PROFESSIONAL ARTS EDUCATORS. CLASSES INCLUDE ACRYLIC, OIL, PASTELS, WATERCOLORS, AND ABSTRACT PAINTING AS WELL AS CERAMICS, DRAWING, BALLET, AND MORE. PRIVATE LESSONS IN CELLO, VIOLIN, VOICE, AND PIANO ARE ALSO AVAILABLE, PLUS OPEN STUDIOS FOR CERAMIC AND FIGURE. MASTER ARTS WORKSHOPS (20) TO ADVANCE ARTISTIC EXPRESSION THROUGH HANDS-ON, MULTI-DISCIPLINED WORKSHOPS FOR VARIOUS SKILL LEVELS ARE FACILITATED BY VISITING REGIONALLY AND NATIONALLY-RECOGNIZED MASTER ARTISTS. ARTISTS CAN ATTEND QUARTERLY PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOPS TO GIVE ARTISTS THE TOOLS TO BE MORE MARKETABLE IN THEIR INDUSTRY. WORKSHOPS PROVIDE EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES FOR OVER 200 ARTISTS ANNUALLY. MORE THAN 40 MULTIDISCIPLINARY CAMP OPPORTUNITIES FOR CHILDREN AGES 4 TO 16 ARE OFFERED ANNUALLY - SUMMER CAMP (10 WEEKS), WINTER CAMP (2 WEEKS), AND SPRING BREAK CAMP OFFERS. THE CULTURAL CENTER HIRES QUALIFIED INSTRUCTORS AND ALSO PARTNERS WITH AREA ARTS ORGANIZATIONS TO PROVIDE A COMPREHENSIVE AND DIVERSE ARTS EXPERIENCE FOR OVER 700 CHILDREN ANNUALLY, INCLUDING 62 CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS TO CHILDREN WHO QUALIFY FOR FREE OR REDUCED LUNCH AT SCHOOL. EVERY SIX WEEKS, NEW EXHIBITIONS ARE FEATURED IN 5 GALLERY SPACES TO SHOWCASE THE WORKS OF REGIONALLY AND NATIONALLY-RECOGNIZED ARTISTS, LOCAL EMERGING ARTISTS, AND ARTIST GROUPS. THERE IS NO CHARGE FOR THE PUBLIC TO VIEW THE EXHIBITIONS. ARTISTS RECEIVE A 60% COMMISSION FOR SOLD ART. THE WORKS OF 500+ ARTISTS ARE SHOWCASED, BRINGING IN MORE THAN 2,000 PATRONS ANNUALLY, WHICH INCLUDE WELL-ATTENDED OPENING RECEPTIONS. THE CULTURAL CENTER PROVIDES AN ANNEX GALLERY AT THE PONTE VEDRA CONCERT HALL WHICH HAS AN ANNUAL PARTICIPATION RATE OF 30,000 INDIVIDUALS A YEAR, AND AN ADDITIONAL GALLERY SPACE AT VICAR'S LANDING (SENIOR RESIDENTIAL COMMUNITY) WHICH SERVES 6,000 A YEAR. THE ABOVE NUMBERS DO NOT REFLECT THE ANNEX GALLERIES. MORE THAN 200 STUDENTS WITH MODERATE TO PROFOUND DISABILITIES RECEIVE FREE MUSIC THERAPY FROM 2 NATIONALLY-CERTIFIED MUSIC THERAPISTS THROUGH SOUND CONNECTIONS, A LARGE-SCALE OUTREACH PROGRAM OF THE CULTURAL CENTER THAT IS FACILITATED AT FOUR LOCAL ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS. FULLY FUNDED BY THE CULTURAL CENTER, AND PROVIDING NEARLY 600 CONTACTS OF SPECIALIZED MUSIC THERAPY EACH WEEK, THE GOAL OF THIS INDIVIDUALIZED AND GROUP MUSIC THERAPY PROGRAM IS TO IMPROVE INTELLECTUAL, COGNITIVE, PHYSICAL, AND SOCIAL SKILLS. ARTS ENGAGEMENT, AN OUTREACH PROGRAM FOR SENIORS WITH EARLY DEMENTIA WHICH HELPS ACCESS MEMORY, REDUCES ISOLATION AND INCREASES COMMUNICATION, IS A FREE, WEEKLY PROGRAM OFFERED IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE ALZHEIMER'S ASSOCIATION. SENIORS WITH EARLY DEMENTIA ARE GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO TAKE A FREE ARTS AND HEALING CLASS IN DANCE, MUSIC OR ART AT A NEARBY ASSISTED LIVING FACILITY.FUNDING FOR THE CULTURAL CENTER INCLUDES CASH AND IN-KIND DONATIONS, MEMBERSHIPS (INDIVIDUALS, FAMILIES, ARTISTS, ARTIST GROUPS, AND THE RENAISSANCE SOCIETY), SPONSORSHIPS, CLASS, CAMP, AND WORKSHOP FEES, AS WELL AS GRANTS AND PROCEEDS FROM FUNDRAISING EVENTS.
