Children Are Our Future provides residential habilitation services for people with disabilities.Specific training activities includes but not limited to assisting the recipients to acquire, maintain, and improve skills related to activities of daily living.The service focuses on personal hygiene skills, such as bathing and oral hygiene; home making skills such food preparation vacuuming, and laundry; and social and adaptive skills that enable the recipient to reside in the community.Behavior focused and intensive behavior residential habilitation may only be provided in APD licensed facilities, Children Are Our Future is an APD licensed facilities.
During 2019 at least 10 clients in group homes and 25 clients in Adult Day Training program. Group home clients were provided training on life coping skills, which includes budgeting, academics, maintaining their household, taking care of personal Hygiene, education on medication, attending community events and church, etc. The Adult Day Training provides academics, physical fitness, arts and crafts, computer technology, job training and life coping skills.Children Are Our Future receives funding from various government sources. Agency for Persons with Disabilities is the licensing and monitoring Agency.
