Organizations Filed Purposes: The Arc of Palm Beach County envisions a community where every person feels welcome, connected and accepted. We are changing the conversation around disabilities by defying definitions, inspiring possibilities and improving the lives of the people we serve, their families and our community. We divide our programs into six groups: Prevention, Education, Leadership, Community Inclusion, Adult Career Education and Community Living Services. From there, our programs deliver services directly to individuals with developmental disabilities from infancy through adulthood, as well as to families in need of support.

Early Intervention- The Arc of Palm Beach County's First Step to Success program provides in-home services throughout Palm Beach County to families of children from birth to five years of age who demonstrate a mild delay in child development. The Arc's team of developmental specialists works with children and their families to strengthen children's skills in the areas of cognition, communication, movement, coordination, social/emotional and self-help. These specialists focus on supporting the parent/child relationship and helping the child achieve developmental milestones. The Healthy Steps to Success program provides developmental services in local pediatricians' offices bringing families and health care providers together to improve the health, development and emotional wellness of children from six months to age three. Services provided include a child development line, links to community resources, home visits, parent groups and more. The Forward Leaps Program provides short-term in home developmental support to children, birth to age 5, with minor developmental delays and provides parents with guidance to support developmental skills.

Residential Services - The Arc provides housing for adults who are developmentally disabled throughout Palm Beach County. These homes are designed to help adults over 18 acquire the skills necessary to enhance their quality of life and achieve their highest level of independence. These facilities are staffed 24 hours a day. Each resident has a personal plan that identifies goals and achievement strategies. During the day, every resident participates in a meaningful activity with many engaged in employment related activities. Moreover, rehabilitation services are provided that offer training activities to help residents acquire, maintain or improve upon skills related to daily living. These services focus on personal hygiene, homemaking and social skills to enable individuals to reside in the community.

Education - Potentials School is a tuition-free, independently run public school providing the best in education with integrated therapies in a safe, nurturing environment for exceptional children in Palm Beach County. The school provides intensive classroom learning experiences, as well as speech, occupational, physical and vision therapy for children from preschool through the eighth grade who have severe disabilities in the areas of communication and ambulation. Moreover, the school has the full support of the Palm Beach County School Board and is an active member of the Florida Consortium for Public Charter Schools.
