Organizations Filed Purposes:
THE FOUNDATION ENHANCES THE QUALITY OF EDUCATION IN SEMINOLE COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS AND ENSURES THAT TODAY'S STUDENTS BECOME TOMORROW'S SUCCESSFUL, PRODUCTIVE CITIZENS. THE FOUNDATION FOCUSES ON THREE FUNDING INITIATIVES FOR THE SCHOOL DISTRICT: 1) PROGRAMS THAT REMOVE THE BARRIERS THAT KEEP KIDS FROM COMING TO SCHOOL READY TO LEARN 2) PROVIDE RESOURCES IN THE CLASSROOM TO ENHANCE STUDENT PERFORMANCE AND 3) SUPPORT OUR HIGH PERFORMING SCHOOL DISTRICT BY RECOGNIZING AND REWARDING OUR TOP PERFORMING EDUCATORS AND SUPPORT STAFF. SINCE INCEPTION THE FOUNDATION HAS RAISED OVER 40 MILLION TO SUPPORT OUR PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT.
TOOLS 4 SEMINOLE SCHOOLS - SECURES DONATED CLASSROOM AND SCHOOL SUPPLIES THROUGHOUT THE SCHOOL YEAR. ALL TEACHERS AT 25 SCHOOLS - ONES WITH 60%+ STUDENTS ON FREE AND REDUCED MEALS - ARE ELIGIBLE TO SHOP MONTHLY. THE REMAINING 45 SCHOOLS ARE ELIGIBLE TO HAVE A DEDICATED REPRESENTATIVE SHOP FOR THE SCHOOL ONCE PER MONTH. APPROXIMATELY 1,338,000 IN PRODUCT WAS DISTRIBUTED TO SCHOOLS IN THE DISTRICT SO THAT STUDENTS COULD START THE YEAR ON THE RIGHT FOOT.
TAKE STOCK IN CHILDREN: TAKE STOCK IN CHILDREN IS A STATEWIDE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM THAT TARGETS STUDENTS WITH A FINANCIAL NEED AND A STRONG DESIRE TO SUCCEED. EACH SPRING, EIGHTH GRADE STUDENTS FROM SEMINOLE COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS ARE INVITED TO APPLY FOR 2 YEAR COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS THROUGH THE TAKE STOCK IN CHILDREN PROGRAM.
GRANTS FOR GREAT IDEAS: THE GRANTS FOR GREAT IDEAS PROGRAM ALLOCATES SMALL GRANTS FOR CLASSROOM, SCHOOL OR DISTRICT PROJECTS. THE FUNDAMENTAL PURPOSE OF THIS PROGRAM IS TO PROVIDE THE FUNDING FOR CLASSROOM PROJECTS THAT ARE INNOVATIVE AND ORIGINAL WITH THE OVERALL GOAL OF ENHANCING A STUDENT'S LEARNING EXPERIENCE. APPROXIATELY 52,985 IN GRANTS WERE AWARDED.
